I’ve read some Brits’ (notably Ben’s) comments in earlier posts. I stand at attention to the steel of their resolve.
When newsmaking things happen in London like they have today, I invariably go to a couple of level headed, gun-owning Briton’s to get the what’s what. The Englishman at an Englishman’s Castle has no related post yet (I hope he’s ok).

It is all Bush’s fault! He knew! and didn’t stop them or warn anybody. He wanted the attack to happen so that his imperial ambitions would be justified. er… no wait a minute. It was actually special forces of th U.S. that carried out the bombings. So that everybody would think the oppressed jihadis did it and then his imperialist ambtions would be justified.

I thought gun-owning Britons had been outlawed a couple of years ago. Glad to see they’re not extinct.
The terrorists have made a strategic error: the Brits have these chaps on their side, called “Special Air Service” … like our Delta Force and SEALs, no better no worse. Difference is, the UK doesn’t restrict their military from being involved in domestic affairs – just ask your average IRA thug about his runins with the SAS boys. What kind of problems with gangs would we have in the US if we had SEALs as a deterrent?
