Graduate school in my early twenties was fun. After that, though, I discovered that I really didn’t like being a businessman. I liked writing software, but nobody was going to hire me to write software. Now I’m, uh, let’s just observe that my next birthday, like Harvey’s most recent one, will mean that my age is a perfect square, and that I’m older than Harvey. I’m self-employed, I write software, I live in a wonderful place, and I’m old enough that I don’t care about getting laid (you’ll get there, Joey; as Aeschylus once said, as quoted by Plato in, I think, the Republic, it’s like no longer being ridden by a fierce beast). I’m much happier now than I was, uh, many years ago.
Once you have to grow up, reality is such a downer.
Yes having to pay your own way really sucks
Either that, or lots of drugs.
My twenties sucked; most of that decade was spent fruitlessly looking for jobs, working sucky minimum wage jobs to get by and not getting laid.
Now I am thirty, employed at a wonderful job and I still don’t get laid. Anyway, I’m happier than ever. Could stand to get laid more, though
