John Edwards was right. There are indeed two Americas. There’s the one you and I live in. With the statue of Liberty, Wal-Marts and utility bills. And then there’s the America that is completely contained within his new 28 THOUSAND square foot house mansion.
Palatial. But don’t you worry about this man of the people. If the one term senator wins the presidency (unlikely), he won’t have to downsize his digs. The White House, at 55,000 sf, is almost twice as big as Castle Edwards.

All the (non Oval Office) office space in the White House shouldn’t count towards the square footage when comparing it to a normal mansion. Edwards probably only has a personal office in his mansion and not all kinds office staff and rooms for the press and stuff.
But John Edwards is a rich, white, Southern male! We can’t vote for him, or we’ll be horrible racist sexist fascists!
Dean Barnett has a reasonably funny piece about it here:

although he’s wrong in his assertion that 28,000 sq. ft. is 80% of a football field without end zones, since a football field is 160 ft. wide, and, therefore, it’s 48,000 sq. ft. without the end zones.
Silicon Valley Jim, that could very well be why I linked to it.
Like any stable, the Silky Pony will fill his space full of s–t in no time.
Sorry, spacemonkey; I can be such a maroon at times.
28,000 feet is not all that huge when you consider how much space it takes to practice ambulance chasing…
Can he fit his ego into such a small space? Of course, 28,000 sq ft with 10′ ceilings would be 280,000 cubic feet. No, still not enough space.
I can see all the “Edwardian Castle” jokes already.
John Edwards will curse the place by the time it’s over.
