Hillary says she wants to end “Bush’s war on science.” There’s a war on science now? When did I miss that?
Really, who is dumb enough to believe that crap? Probably people too stupid to understand science.

Is there veterans organization for this war? And what funding for it? Will the Democrats cut off the support our geeks need to take the fight to the enemy? Do we now call increased funding for schools a “Surge” ?
THE PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW THESE THINGS, HILLARY!!!!
Oh, that’s not even the beginning of it. Hillary will undoubtedly use the “War On” catchphrase for the rest of the primary cycle. My predictions for her themes? See below:
War on Education
War on Healthcare
War on Senior Citizens/Medicare/Social Security
War on the Environment
War on Taxes
War on Ruthless, Genocidal Dictators (oh wait, maybe that one was good)
War on the Dixie Chicks
Any others?
Sort of OT, but the ad included with this page is pretty darn funny.
You have to go about half-way down but there is a link to a cafe press site with T-shirts, bumper stickers and more! with the phrase, “Have you googled Ron Paul Yet?”.
Now that’s funny. They seem to have left out any Ghandi quotes or any mention of money made by Italian carmakers, but it’s still pretty darn funny.
They do, of course, have the little-too-defensive “We’re NOT just the Internet!!!!” merchandise, but I still love the google one the best.
First you google, then you quote Ghandi, then you get defensive, then you go back to Democratic Underground.
To increase public awareness of his war on science President Bush today at a news conference in the Rose Garden stood by while Vice President Chaney bayonetted Stephen Hawking…..
The War on Science refers to the numerous times the current administration has edited climate change documents and muzzled the CDC and Surgeon General on important health issues. The administration clearly prefers its ideological beliefs to scientific fact. Anyone who would make a headline like “War on Science?” pretending like they had never heard of such a thing is clearly an immature little child. [Translation: “mee here booosh hoort science. mee no like boosh. science gud. fire bad.”
BTW, I prefer being called “a pip.” -Ed.]
Frank – to answer your question “who is dumb enough to believe that crap?”: Nobody. All politicians shade the truth – but the Clintons don’t just color the truth – they obliterate it.
It has always been a mystery to me that the Clintons can get away with lying right to peoples’ faces. People know they are lying and the Clintons know that the people don’t believe them. They tell the most ridiculous whoppers (“I didn’t inhale”) or lies that are so self-serving and legally convenient (“I didn’t know those billing records were in my closet”) or just pointless (“I’ve always been a Yankees fan”) that absolutely no one with any common sense could possibly believe them.
Yet democrats will take it. The Clintons throw sh*t right in their faces and they turn right around and vote them. It is one thing to support an honest liberal but how could you support someone that thinks so little of you that they will lie right to your face for any reason – or no reason at all? I couldn’t do it.
And there is no point in telling Democrats the truth – that GWB has actually increased funding for disease research. The truth doesn’t matter to them anymore – they only care about rhetoric.
BTW: exhelodrvr – that’s funny!
What I can’t figure out is why she’s after Bush and not the Goracle.
I mean, sure Bush is a little bit of a global warm-monger, but the Goracle and his error-filled “Inconvenient (un)Truth” movie are about as close to being a Michael Moore “documentary” as you can get without all the fried food.
Now that’s a war on science.
FYI is an ALgore suckass.
Try reading all the available peer reviewed published scientific work (not just that which lil’ Al tells you to) and you’ll see that man made global warming is a farce. Go on, read, I dare you.
Conservatives understand science and economics-you people-not so much.
If Bush is holding a War on Science then why does he spend $25 billion per year on Science and Technology when Bill Clinton only spent $19.2 billion on Science and Technology in his last year in office??? Hmmm…Were Bill and Hillary waging a “Jihad on Science” or perhaps a “Holocaust on Science”?
How is it that President Bush has found his way to spend 30% more than the Clinton’s supporting Science?
Oh, silly me, I remember now, if the research doesn’t kill babies then it doesn’t count as science!!!
Right on, Alamo. Now, for my favorite comeback:
“Meteorologists can’t forecast next week’s weather with any kind of certainty. So, how is it that Al Bore is so sure what it’ll be like a century from now?”
I’ve yet to hear any answer at all to that question.
I hate to be the bearer of stupid news, but there are huge numbers of people who buy into this trope/tripe. Yeah, they really, really believe Chimpy McHallibush hates science because:
…well, if we could all agree that socialism is the scientifically proven way to prevent the end of the world, everything would be just squoogie, but Booshitler (note how we worked in a naughty word? tee hee!) hates black people so he wants to direct hurricanes to demolish levies with explosives, and there’s something about Southern Baptists as well…
Hell, I can’t keep it all straight. But for some reason it’s these yahoos who think that W hates science, rather than the reverse.
“I’m going to take the medal I got from the high school science fair, and throw it over the White House fence in protest!!”
“Don’t worry, the ‘Tom Swift Veterans for Truth’ will clear things up.”
That, my friends, is sheer comedy gold. Well done, exhelodvr, well done!
How can he be against science if he invented the black-seeking hurricane generator? The electronic voting machine? The Dan Rather mind control device? There’s just tons of science going on!
Without getting into my speaker bio, I know my space stuff. Clinton cut NASA’s budget 7 out of 8 years, and now the Democrats in Congress are trying to ban NASA from spending any research money on any technologies to go to Mars (Apparently if a Bush proposed it, it’s not science, even if it’s the biggest science and engineering effort in the history of humanity).
The Thomas Swift bit? I agree, that and a lot of the other posts are just brilliant.
There’s a war on scientists with big egos and big, lying mouths. Not bad, George. If members of the science community don’t like it, they can work in the private sector.
Science has become political, the evolution of which has taken over 50 years. George didn’t politicize it, but he’s finally making Federal scientists work FOR the Federal Government, and not for their book careers with Al Gore.
Jeez, without science, how would we make nukes? Presumptively, that includes the ones on the moon. Science has given us multi-stage fusion weapons and I think it is the second last ally any good hawkish republican would want to wage war on.
Also, yeah, the Weather Machine.

I thought she was for the war on science before she was against the war on science. Were we lead into the war with faulty intel?

it’s a police action on science… like the korean ‘war’.
hillary, that mischevious little pixie devil.

I knew we shouldn’t have given in to that Galileo fellow! It’s all his fault!

Dammit! Hillary burned me again!
Now what am I gonna do with 10,000 hats and T-shirts that say, “Bong hits for Barak”

The Iranians are just doing research on cleaner forms of energy, and look what President Bush is trying to do to them?
Any belief in religion is a war on science to them.

yep, people like Al Gore and John “Elect John Kerry and me and Christopher Reeve will get out of that wheelchair” Edwards.
well, I think Mike Huckabee, if elected, would gladly be Commander in Chief for a war on science.
