lolterizt! Part 48

I’m noticing two dropoffs – post rating and reader contributions.
Looking for some feedback – what do I need here? Better pictures? Better captions? Or is the whole concept just way too 2007?
Gimme some tough love.
Meanwhile, once again, pass ’em around, spread the love, and if you make your own, don’t be shy about dropping a link to your pics in the comments. The more, the merrier.
NOTE TO READERS: Hovering your mouse over the picture activates closed captioning for the l33t-speak/txtmsg impaired.

PRODUCTION NOTES:
#1: When creating lolterizt! pictures, please caption with either black or white text, as colors like red and yellow tend to blur badly when I compress the images.
#2: Standard image size for these posts is 350px wide by whatever high. If you can have your images 350px wide before you caption them, I won’t end up shrinking your captions into illegibility when I re-size the images.
STYLE NOTE: Short captions are usually better. Your goal is 10 words or less, with humor value tending to increase exponentially as the number of words approaches 1.
HAT TIP: Snapped Shot for handy links to ripe-for-captioning photos.
Send your submissions to lolterizt-at-gmail.com and – if they aren’t obscene (IMAO is a PG-13 site) and don’t suck too terribly bad – I’ll post them for you. Remember to include your name (and blog URL, if applicable) so I know who to thank.

  1. Hey, Harv, I still like them! Actually, they have been getting a little less amusing lately, but this particular edition was better than the last few, in my humble opinion. Especially the Hannah Montana one. Keep ’em coming, I say…but you could go for “less quantity, more quality.”

  2. I really like them, just generally too lazy to comment.
I thought the LolHillary addition was the best one in a while. Maybe do a LolObamz, lolMcCainz or just a general lolpoliticz?
My reasoning is if we can’t laugh at our current choices for president, we are all gonna cry ourselves to death.

  3. Yeah, the captions have lost a certain something, although they’re still funny. The lolhillary was a lot better – maybe expanding the subject matter would inject some fresh energy. The presidential candidates, European leaders, Kim Jong Il, and many others could do with some mocking. 🙂

  4. As a somewhat frequent contributor, I’m neither qualified to post more, nor to rate, except to say that – as in most weeks – I’m rather envious of the quality of the other posters’ work.
    …must…work…harder…on…ideas…

  5. The recession is over so people have less time for posting.
Also, I have little or no sense of humor, and am awestruck by the brilliance of the other posters.
See? I just proved my point.

  6. In general, the photos and captions are great. However, many of us absolutely hate internet/text slang and deliberately misspelled English. I’d prefer captions written in our beautiful national language, not the gibberish of illiterate teenagers.

  7. I’ve got to agree with Tommy. I can’t tolerate bad spelling and text language. It’s like fingernails down a chalkboard. Sorry…
However the Rosie one was pretty funny, even if revolting.

  8. I like ’em, like ’em still. I’m a freaking pedant (as you know), but lolspeak, for some reason, cracks me up. Maybe it’s because I live on the ‘net. The decline might be because the good jokes have been mostly used up, or rather, the easy good ones. Regardless, I still look forward to the lolterizt editions.

  9. Is the general theme of mideast terrorists nessessary? There are odd things happening all over the world that provide photo and humor oportunities. Being almost totally incompetant at the higher and more artful uses of the computer I can only observe and enjoy, but not contribute. But those who can, should. Thank you.
