Reliable as a Stopped Clock

The New York Times endorsed Obama, but why do they even bother? That’s like announcing who the DNC has endorsed. The last time the NYT endorsed a Republican was Eisenhower in 1956. They might as well write their next twenty years of presidential endorsement now and just leaves blanks for the name of the Democrat to be filled in later. If I were to predict whether the NYT is going to endorse the Democrat nominee in 2028, the only variable I have to worry about it is whether the NYT will still be around.

So I will not make that prediction.

  1. Have to agree with Corsair here. The only time the New York Times has been right in the past 50 years was when they posted the start times for showings of Fahrenheit 911 when it played in New York City theaters.

  2. The NYT will be around in 2028. Then the state will operate the media. Profit will not be needed. indeed it will be a crime.

The confused media is promoting some sort of perfect absolute state. A state wise enough to impose social and economic justice throughout the land.

And they imagine that, in such a land, the media will be free and speak truth to power. They have it reversed. That power will speak to them.

  3. There is one variable that you forgot. What if a more-left party comes to the mainstream? I’d imagine that the NYT would have a hard time deciding between the marxist party and the communist party. Decisions, decisions.
