  1. hey, im one of them youngsters
    ๐Ÿ˜€
i prefer to think that im not as stupid or uninformed as many of my compatriots in my generation. im getting ready to vote in 2 years, and 4. and im not going to just pay attention to whether they shred on guitar, im informing myself.
but if the president could shred on guitar
    that would kick ass.

maybe obama can play base like on south park. cartman said to token when token didnt want to play base for cartmans band: “dude, youre black, all blacks can play base” token picks up the base and proceeds to shred. and then he says: “goddammit cartman” lol

  2. Mike Huckabee is not inspiring. He speaks well but as with all preachers I find them well…preachy and boring. Sarah Palin is who you need to run in 2012. You just better pray she wants to do it. The views of her have been skewed by McCain staffers wanting to slow her down due in 2012 and democrats who were afraid of her enormously appealing nature.

  3. Sophie …. you are worried we will turn into France….what is worse is that we might turn into Germany. You know where they are fascinated by poop and have toilets that allow easier inspection. ( this may be due to the colon cancer gene that runs in germans ) …… and they are totally neurotic about global warming and trees. They still worship gaia over there. I am a german-american and I’ll be the first to tell you I hate the neurotic tendencies of the germans!

  4. Say it ain’t so, Zo. Huckabee?

I will say this, I knew a lot of liberals (that happens when you live in VT) who were scared silly that Huckabee would get it because even they found it hard not to like him. He did have delivery.

I thought he was another “compassionate” conservative who would not control the size and scope of government, but he did have delivery.

Other than the Huckabee thing, good vid.

  5. No, I’m not a McCain fan. I like small government, low taxes, peace through superior firepower, constructionist, border protecting, life protecting conservatives. (Yes, McCain was some of those things.) But he was running against Obama. The only way I wouldn’t have voted for McCain is if he’d selected Huckabee as his running mate — I just couldn’t have stomached it.

  6. Palin / Jindal in 2012 : All this talk about Sarah Palin does not add up to a single fake greek temple

All these stories bubbling up about Sarah Palin are very unlikely sounding. First of allโ€ฆ.wouldnโ€™t staffers be running out to buy the clothes? From various accounts I take this to be the case. The bubblehead theory does not wash with what I saw of her. And where do the divas you know all want to live? Right. New York City. I am going to guess all the divas in Wasilla moved away shortly after 18 years of age. If sheโ€™s so dumb, incapable and such a political joke, why do all the rabid lefties get into such a lather at the thought of her. Their irrational derangement was obvious. Even old horse Peggy Noonan joined in on a premature rant. This was before any of these confected stories.

What about wearing a towel when the staffers came by? Highlighted as some sort of issue this particular point really puts the lie to this smear campaign. So much so I feel I must bullet point the arguments.

-1- Who cares? The campaign was long hard boring work. Why worry about a such an incident?

-2-How uptight do you have to be to think this is some sort of issue?

-3-The kitchen sink is being tossed in. Why add this point unless you are trying to directly accomplish some sort of goal ?

-4 Did the staffers not get to know her very well? Were they not there to help her manage time? A towel would not be the worry. ( unless she looked like Madelaine Albright โ€ฆbut only for the staffers stomach )

-5- Who would even ask or be interested about this other than teenage boys with masturbatory fantasies of her?

It is always amazing to me what portrayals people will swallow. Obama spent 700,000 on a Greek temple set for a single speech. Who asks about this? Talk about a jackarse idea. SHAZAM.

So I am left asking “Who benefits? What is the motivation for leaking these stories? McCains already lost. However staffers have to find jobs and McCain probably presumes to be the titular leader of the republican party. I rule out the idea he will run again. His candidacy and speaking abilities were senatorial to a fault. That is to say bad. Thus we must ask who wants her hobbled so they can be the republican nominee in 2012? Or is some sort of Democrat party influence being use to pay for her smear campaign? If she runs in 2012 she will dismantle Obama like a frog being dissected in biology class. Hear me now believe me later. Obama clearly would not want to run against such a natural talent as her. She is a definite front runner and outshines even Obama in her speaking because she actually connects with people. Obama clearly does not connect while still being a good speaker. He is quite a cold fish.

I saw the point somewhere that Washington D.C. is an insiders club. They do not want any person disrupting the place. Sounds paranoid until you factor in this story because even if every word of these stories about Palin were true they still do not add up to one ersatz Greek temple.

Do not let this discourage you Sarah. If you want to run in 2012 then do it. I can tell you with certainty you will be the nominee. I can also tell you with certainty you will beat Obama. Your authenticity will be felt even if most people are unequipped to detect the presence of the lie being told about you.

  7. The message should go out loud and clear to ther conservative republicans right now, today – I agree dont wait 4 years to start –
Yes Huckabee did deliver and it earned him a TV show Zo was right about the concept of someone that can deliver a speech – God knows thats what nobama did!
Lots to think about in this video and lots to work on soon for 2012
Palin/Jindal or Jindal/Palin 2012 either way I like the sound of that team!

  8. Freemon, you’re right… do they make divas in Alaska, people who are so difficult to get along with that they get in fights with people on the street? And btw, it’s too cold there to walk around in towels!! I think everyone should just rest their yappers until 2012 and then watch her destroy the leftwing illuminati with her beauty queen smile.

  9. You had me till Huckabee, Zo….and I am a very strong Christian. I was one of his biggest critics because of his record. My first choice was Duncan Hunter, and Fred was my second….though I voted Romney in the primary because the first 2 were already out. I had to pinch my nose HARD for McCain- Sarah made that so much easier. Alan Keyes, Bob Barr, et al were this election’s Ross Perot and for that I say thanks a whole lot. I am scared for my country, I am scared for my family, and I am not going down without a fight. Thanks to our multiple 3rd parties for making this possible, thank you GOP for picking McCain (the guy I am almost convinced was chosen just because you KNEW he wouldn’t win), thank you msm for your constant fawning over someone who DOES in fact pal around with terrorists….thank you to Obama’s sheeple who brainlessly voted someone in based on nuance and simple minded chants.

I am super excited that Ayers and Obama’s other terrorist friends are now privy to our Nation’s most classified information.

*Insert string of swears I won’t say, here*

  10. Since I left the comment about Palin and the smear campaign against her I have come to the conclusion some republican that wants to run in 2012 is probably behind the effort. Watch the staffers from the McCain campaign and who they work for in 2012. That’s probably who is behind it.

  11. About 1 1/2 years ago there were those around me that believed the only way the GOP would hold the Oval Office was with a moderate, and namely John McCain. I disagreed at the time, and stuck with a conservative choice in the primary January 08′ . McCain almost beat Obama, and like Zo said he lacked the charisma Obama carried. Why I say he almost beat him is the gap was closing up to the stock market and economic problem, and the weeks that followed showed it beginning to close even upon election day. My point is this, that there were 3 or 4 other candidates with a far more conservative record and I dare say ANY of them would have beat Obama . The main reason why: THE MEDIA WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO WHAT THEY DELIVERED AGAINST THE LEFT , it would have carried enough substance for their palette.

  12. I believe that Mike Huckabee could have succeeded if he hadn’t spent his time going after Mitt Romney. Huckabee wanted to make Romney’s Mormon faith a questionable issue, and we all know that if Alan Keyes were involved, Huckabee would have gone after him for his strong Catholic faith. Thanks to all that Republican infighting, we now have a Muslim as President-elect.

  13. Guys, you are kinda missing Zo’s point about Huck. He admits he isn’t the ideal conservative. But he was probably the best CANDIDATE our side could have fielded. If we could suck it up and punch a button for McCain (The king of the RINOs) we could have done it for Huck if the alternative was Obama. Difference being Huck would be President Elect right now.

Now if we could have had the Fred! from before he actually entered the race (as a stalking horse for McCain it is now apparent) that would have ruled. But that wasn’t an option.

Gotta disagree about Alan Keyes. He used to make a whole hell of a lot more sense, guess he got the same brain disease that turned Pat Buchanan into a raving loon. I actually voted for Keyes in the ’96 and ’00 primaries on the grounds that a) he was the only major party candidate who I have ever seen answer a question by saying the Constituition wouldn’t allow him to do something and b) to protest the Party ramming Dole & Bush down our throats.

  14. Since I left the comment about Palin and the smear campaign against her I have come to the conclusion some republican that wants to run in 2012 is probably behind the effort.

I am warming to the title of RU (whatever Frank wants, his baby), but this is one reason why titling our Underground movement with a name associated with such despicable Republicans may not be a good idea? Just thinking out loud anyway…

  15. Mary, Terry,
Duncan Hunter was easily the most conservative guy running, and would have made an excellent POTUS. Unfortunately, I live in San Diego and did not have the opportunity to vote for him. ๐Ÿ™
I did get to vote for his son a few days ago.

  16. I haven’t seen Duncan Hunter’s name mentioned anywhere in months.
Is he still in the house of reps?
I knew he had to be conservative, based on the negative evidence that the press tried to pretend he didn’t exist.

  17. I totally “get” what Zo is saying and agree we can’t lose steam. I was not a fan of Romney – he flip flopped way too much for my liking. Agree w/others here about Duncan Hunter. Also liked Keyes. Wasn’t the least bit excited about McCain until Sarah showed up.

HCG you’re in SD, too! Shoulda realized that from your previous posts.

  18. I don’t care how many parties there are. It’d be nice if one with a chance of winning had a consistent philosophy.

Republicans: The government has no right to tell you what to do with your money, but your dingaling is a different story.

  19. The greatest thing about Mitt Romney was the fact that he actually talked about changing his mind on issues rather than just denying that he ever changed his position. I respect a person who can admit that something happened that changed their mind. I respect someone who can be fluid within the confines of their larger ideological stance. However, I could never have voted for him because of the univeral health care issue in Mass. Look at what it’s doing to that state. I fear that we’d be facing something similar to the nation.

  20. You guys are talking like we are even going to have a country after 4 years of Obama!!!! I remember what it was like with Jimmy Carter and it got to the point I was ashamed to be called an American. Obama will make us a Third World country in less than a year!!! This is what the people who are pulling his strings want. No matter who we had put in their to run against Obama they would not have won. Obama and his cronies bought this election, big time. He is not and will never be my President. Barack (HUSSEIN) Obama is just another muslim trying to kill us INFIDELS!!!

  21. John Morris, Huckabee would have turned Utah and possibly Idaho blue for the first time in a very long time, no small feat. It’s totally okay to think someone else’s religion is false, but Huckabee’s first attack on Romney was over his Mormon faith in a political race. After that, he attacked Romney over stupid stuff, any petty little thing he could, and everyone knew it was just because Mitt is Mormon. I am not Mormon, but every time Huckabee attacked Romney, I found myself saying, “Yeah, we get it. You hate Mormons.” I was really uncomfortable with his focus on another candidate’s religion when government and religion are supposed to be separate and when that other candidate was not making his own religion an issue (he only gave the speech because Huckabee was being so rabid about it). So no, I don’t think he’s the best candidate our side could have fielded. He’s the only one besides Ron Paul that I wouldn’t have voted for even against Obama — I would have stayed home.

  22. Cataalex: I’m with you. The O might have been elected, but he’s not the president of the country I know and love, and I’ll starve in the woods before I kneel and kiss the ring.

Gotta give Zo credit for passion and pushing a Plan. The Grand Old Party sux rox at playing the game. They come off as out-of-touch prudes, tsk-tsk-tsking, sticking their noses into peoples’ personal lives, and definitely failing in delivery.

The grooming of the next POTUS must begin immediately, with New Blood (Jindal and Palin are still in this category) with no eating of own’s own. The focus should be on Constitutional matters outside our front doors (strength, security, economics, infrustructure, etc. ), not within.

  23. I had serious misgivings about Romney because of the Mormon issue, but at least I know Mormonism well enough to know that if anything, they love the US. Now we have a president-elect who is the product of three cults – Islam, Black Liberation Theology, and Communism – all of which hate the US and what we stand for passionately at every level. Unfortunately the girlfriend I had at the time was right – if someone believes Mormonism a very large chunk of the country are simply going to assume that person is insane. Unfortunately 52 percent of them are out there believing things that make Scientology look good by comparison. Romney would have made an excellent treasury secretary, though.

Huck wasn’t the best candidate, but Zo is right about being able to bring it to a debate the way McCain didn’t. When McCain acted like a scalded poodle on Letterman I really, REALLY missed Huckabee’s articulate qualities.

My biggest regret is that J C Watts dropped out of politics. When he gave the Republican response to a Clinton speech one year, my then-wife and I both stared at the screen in complete awe and afterwards both said, “I think we just saw our next President”. Unfortunately, the path that should have been Watts was Obama’s instead. I don’t hate Watts decision to drop out, but I do think he needs to make a Wilberforce decision and get back in the game in 2012.

  24. I wanted Fred, but let’s face it, with the primaries set up the way they are, there is no way a strong conservative will ever be up for POTUS again.

Take John McCain. His campaign was dead, but all the sudden, the media announced his ‘comeback’ and tons of Democrats went to vote in a Republican Primary. Why? Because the Media and the Democrats wanted to make sure that we had the worst candidate possible. And it worked because of the screwed up way primaries are run. If all primaries were held on the same day in every state and it wasn’t winner take all in the individual states, then there wouldn’t have been this media driven narrative of ‘conservatives want a person who is less conservative’ that finally influenced the vote totals. There wouldn’t have been a ton of Democrats flocking to Republican polls to skew our primary. We would have had a Thompson or even a Hunter instead of Maverick McAmnesty.

And then, of course, after building him up to win the primary, the MSM proceeded to tear him down. Big surprise.

And now we have someone who flat out says in his acceptance speech he’s going to give the gays ‘equality’ (read: force everyone to say ‘Gay is Great’ or be dragged in front of a human rights tribunal and fined or imprisoned) and whose campaign says he’ll be moderate, but he’ll be a ‘progressive’ as well, which means that he’ll take the conservative route with the economy because he knows that half his policies would tank the country but move our courts and our society so far down the path of crass anything goes immorality and liberal dictatorship that he’s going to make Clinton look like a choirboy.

And that we won’t be able to recover from, no matter how great our next batch of conservatives is. Once you’ve bought the youth with sex, drugs and free money for not working a day in your life, they’ll grow into adults who are addicted to sex, drugs and free money for not working a day in your life and wouldn’t vote against it even when the country is crashing down around their ears. Once you’ve made 20 million illegals into registered voters who immediately get put on the government teat, you’ll have a Democrat majority for generations to come.

Sorry, but this election to me was the death knell for this country as the last, great hope for conservatism in the world…

  25. “Iโ€™m with you. The O might have been elected, but heโ€™s not the president of the country I know and love”

disgusting. You’re no better than the hippie douchebags of 2000/2004. Leave. We don’t need them or you.

  26. โ€œIโ€™m with you. The O might have been elected, but heโ€™s not the president of the country I know and loveโ€

disgusting. Youโ€™re no better than the hippie douchebags of 2000/2004. Leave. We donโ€™t need them or you.

Technically he’s right, scooter. BO isn’t POTUS yet. Semantics, I know. But I suggest not calling someone names and telling them to leave just because you don’t like what they say.

I don’t like him, either. None of us do. I will respect the office, not the man. In fact, I agree with Ann Coulter:

“For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.

    Starting tomorrow, if not sooner.”

  27. Forgot to say that if we’re going to take back the party, the time is over for playing nice. I don’t care what the left thinks. I won’t succumb to ODS but neither will I embrace Hopey McChangerson and drink the FlavRAid.

  28. “disgusting. Youโ€™re no better than the hippie douchebags of 2000/2004. Leave. We donโ€™t need them or you.” – Scooter

Scooter, I think ILoveMyFreedoms has made her views sufficiently clear enough here at IMAO that your statement is patently false.

“Leave. We donโ€™t need them or you” – Scooter

Jimmy says stay. We don’t need douchebags. We do need ILoveMyFreedoms.

  29. Jimmy, I [heart] you. I would love to stay and paint the van and I promise it won’t look like the Partridge Family bus.

And Scooter, have you met Russell Freeman? (I’m now a f***turd AND a hippie douchebag!) Methinks you enjoy toying with those you believe might be female posters — without reading through the posts and comprehending where folks are coming from, do you realize you’ve condemned a Reagan Compassionate Conservative? — … as opposed to fighting The Real Men of IMAO with their mega-“kick assery.” Remember, Reading is Fundamental, Scoots.

#47-48, RightWingTink, hehehe about playing “fair” and thank you. I also respect the office; the pres-elect has just not yet earned it yet and, if he continues with his proposed agendas, he won’t.

God Bless America. And weekends. And IMAO.

  30. ILoveMyFreedoms~ Quite welcome. scooter may have spent one too many years in publik edumacation.
And indeed, hussein hasn’t earned it.

Nor will he, especially if he keeps making fun of Nancy Reagan.

  31. You know, we make jokes about how liberals use their “feelings” as their sole basis for decisions. But that doesn’t mean conservatives don’t have feelings or don’t try to make sense of them. Having grown up with a lot of women, as a man I realize that women usually are in better touch with their feelings than men. And conservative women are thinkers first, and feelers second. So, when THEY express their feelings (and almost always based on analysis first), I pay attention. And I’m usually inspired by it.

Which happens to be why conservative women ROCK.

  32. Still Love Zo, But he completely misses the point. It isn’t RINOs like Huck who are the future of the conservative movement. Zo is. So is people like Ed Morrissy, Michele Malkin, Bob Parks, Ace, Mary Katherine Ham, even our own cast here at IMAO.

Zo breaches the point that one of the big problems in the conservative movement is message delivery. Mary Matlin, who worked on Fred’s Thompson’s run, points to the same problem in his campaign. The message hasn’t changed, only people’s perception. In part from allowing our Republicans to go astray, but also because we arent getting the message out there. Is there one conservative that is reading this post that doesn’t believe that consevative princapals in Government would better help everyone in the county?

I get were Zo says we need a politician who can take somewhat of our message to the left. That was the same argument made when Arnold Schwarzenegger went up against Tom McClintock for govoner in Gray Davis’s recall election. Look at where California is now. 20 BILLION in new taxes!

So how do we move that message? We aint going to win in the music industry. (Even I can’t stomach that much country and I’m from Oklahoma.) We arent going to win in the media, or in the movies. (We have Jerry Brockhimer. His movies aren’t known for being deep.)What medium do we have that will educate the population. Not just here in America but everywhere. Our last bastion is here on the internet.

Conservatives want to organize. We want to do something to bring this country back. If any of you don’t believe me look at the Frank’s post on the Republican Underground. When was the last time people here felt so compeled to post well over 100 times. Now all we need is a direction, And people like Zo can help.

I don’t care who you are. We listen to Zo even if we don’t agree. We will continue to listen to him. Most of his post are briliant. I don’t know any one that can tackle Abortion like he did. We need people like him to put out the message. That is the only way we can get the people of America to open up to substance not flash.

As far as I know, we only have one Reagan, but we can have a new Jindal, Pailn, or Thompson.

  33. “But I suggest not calling someone names and telling them to leave just because you donโ€™t like what they say. ”
I suggest leaving America if you can’t handle our officials being chosen by election. That’s not changing.

“Methinks you enjoy toying with those you believe might be female posters ”
Because ILoveMyFreedoms is a super feminine specific name? I missed it if you talked about your uterus in the post I responded too. I promise it was the IHateDemocracy part that disgusted me.

“without reading through the posts and comprehending where folks are coming from, do you realize youโ€™ve condemned a Reagan Compassionate Conservative? ”
Why would that make a difference? If Compassionate Conservative America is a country I was previously unaware of I do apologize. I thought you were from the United States of America.

  34. Elsewhere: ‘I’m a marathon runner, and I have a red, white and blue singlet that I’ve seldom dared to wear on the Continent. Marathons are difficult enough without enduring catcalls and jeers from spectators.

But my best friend and training partner โ€” who is French โ€” just gave me his stamp of approval.

“Will you wear your Stars and Stripes shirt now? You’re allowed!” he told me. “‘

To this I say that if he wouldn’t wear it before he has no right to wear it now.

“I remember what it was like with Jimmy Carter and it got to the point I was ashamed to be called an American. ”

    mm-hmm
