George Bush Got the First Black President Elected

That alone gives him a bigger legacy than Bill Clinton.

  1. Palin/Fleming (Frank J)

Actually, after the potential mess the democrats could inflict, we could run WetDog/ThatDog’sLastBowelMovement and win. Provided we’re still allowed to vote, of course.

  2. I am worried. My son enlisted (11X, Airborne Ranger) with W in office. Now he faces an enlistment under an Obama administration. How can I not be scared out of my friggin’ gourd? I am seriously hatin’ right now! Doc, I am seriously interested in that four year bender! Jeebus, I am scared. This is my son! Damn.

  3. The important thing, Paleo, is that your son understands that serving under bad presidents can happen to anyone and there are people back home worth protecting regardless. Be strong for him. I’m in the same boat with mine, as you know.

It’s not so much Obama that I disapprove of (because I do), but it’s our rotten electorate that has me worried. How do we recover from this? It isn’t going to happen in what’s left of my lifetime, probably.

  4. You can attribute this presidency to one phrase: “compassionate conservatism” REAL conservatism IS compassionate – it’s a shame George W was so ashamed of it that he had to be a wishy-washy, demo-loving RINO.

The rebirth of true conservatism starts tomorrow. The House in 2010, President Palin in 2012. McCain should now be relegated to the position of the town idiot that gets all the grown-ups coffee.

  5. Ur scared? Please you can not do worse than George Bush. The last 8 years have been scary, get your head out of your ass. Your son is a grown man, making grown decisions. He’s best to stay safe and focus on coming home. Hope over fear.

  6. Idiocy of the populace, arrogance of the media, and foreign monies won this election. Bush just assisted, kinda like Jack Kevorkian.

I’m likin’ Jindal, Palin, Thompson… Hey, Clinton had a threesome, why can’t the Republican Underground?

  7. #12: “Please you can not do worse than George Bush.”

Ummm, yes, The Traitorous One can.

#9 – PaleoMedic: Our thanks to your son. Rest your fears; he will do what’s right for himself, his brothers, and our country. Our military rocks!

  8. Who’s the traitor? I know you’re all Texans and are all kinda backwards, but damn! I’m a Republican from North Carolina, and I voted for McCain, not because I think Obama is a traitor, Muslim, hater of the military etc. (which I don’t), but because I don’t agree with him when it concerns the economy. Look, I understand that some of you may have sons and daughters in Iraq and Afghanistan, but let’s stop pointing our fingers at Obama. My brother is in Iraq–and I don’t want them to lose there. We’re not going to lose; we’re winning now in Iraq. Obama is right there–Afghanistan is where our troops need to be. There’s nothing we can do now. Remember; this is a cliche, but this is the United States of America, the land of tolerance and choice. Let’s keep it that way.

  9. #15: “There’s nothing we can do now.”

Yes, there is. Keep reading IMAO. Y’ain’t heard nuthin’ yet.

” … this is the US of A, the land of tolerance and choice.”

No, it is not. Obamuhamad said it’s not.

And if a finger needs pointing, there are plenty of us “backwards Texans” (WTF???) who are happy to do so. Let’s start with The O’s plans for the military…

  10. Actually, let me rephrase this: Most everyone on this board is respectable, except for you, ILoveMyFreedom. If you really loved your freedom, you would do something more than just bigot on this board. Lemme guess, you’re a high-school only educated former military personnel who has a problem with someone who’s name might have a bad rhyme. YOU ARE A FING RETARD! (BACKWARD TEXAN)! Sarah Palin is respectable, John McCain is respectable, Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee, Paul, Thompson, all respectable in this party. Democrats aren’t evil. We the GOP aren’t evil. We are all Americans you ftard. Americans. We might not be perfect, but that is what we strive, above all else, to be. Tolerant trustworthy decent Americans. You know what is evil? Murder. Assassination. White bigotry. White Supremacy. Corporate dominance. Do you even realize what our party was founded on? Abolition. Disagree? Go f*** yourself. Anyone with your views doesn’t deserve to be American. You apparently have no faith in our government. You know what you should do? Move to Iraq. Or Afghanistan. Because I have the dignity not to say what should be done.

  11. White bigotry is evil? Only white bigotry? Only white supremacy?
Corporate dominance is evil? Do you mean Corporate as in Big (successful) Business, or Corporate as in Majority Rule?

Ignorant idiots, Bigot, High-school only educated, Former military personnel, F***ing retard, Backward Texan, F*cktard, Respectable, Tolerant, Trustworthy, Decent, Evil – How very judgemental and intolerant you are today!

I do note that you didn’t use the word Evil of any person or group, only of actions and practices.
Is it even possible for a person to be evil, in your view?

However, all such terms mean nothing without an impartial, objective standard of comparison.
That means morals, judgement, conscience, perspective, not emotion or personal preference.

“We MIGHT NOT be perfect”? Might not?
You mean there’s a possibility that we ARE perfect? (Or maybe just Some of us?)

“But that is what WE strive, above all else, to be.”? We?
Every single person in the world? Oh, excuse me, you specifically referred to Americans there.
So Americans strive and everyone else just wallows around in filth and depravity?

“Doesn’t deserve to be an American”?
Is it your job now to decide who deserves to be an American?
Or to cast judgement on others ‘views’?

“No faith in our Government”? Hello?
“Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.”
    – Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776.

Your comment was so full of Freudian typos I’m not sure you’re not just trying to pull our legs.

Bravo! And a moment of heartfelt silence for Thomas Paine. Excellent quote.

What’s ironic is that I would gladly trade my stiletos to walk in any of our soldiers’ boots in the Sandbox.

And Jimmy will always have a job making troll shoes.
