Since the numerous defeats faced by Republican candidates, there are some cries about moving the party further to the middle which of course means further to the left. Because that’s really been working well so far.
That’s a bit like saying, “Y’know, I keep getting all these burns on my skin sitting in this frying pan. What to do do, what to do? I know! I’ll pour cold gasoline on my head and jump into the fire!”
It’s time to get out of the frying pan and put the fire out by embracing the conservative core concepts:
- Free Markets,
- Free People
- Family
- Faith
- Firearms
Because if we keep trying to be Donkey-Lite, we’ll just keep on being Weak-Ass.
I really can’t believe anyone would suggest moving further to the left because that’s our exact problem. McCain was definitely left of Bush and when people looked at the two candidates they were just like eh i don’t like either but Obama is different. They didn’t vote over strategies they voted of skin color. Now a true conservative would have brought some strategies and people might have been coerced to make a more educated decision.
Interesting fact that young Republicans probably don’t know:
In the 1964 campaign, Barry Goldwater advocated the phasing-out of Social Security over a 20-year period. This would have meant it would have been gone by 1984. 1984!
Imagine that. Imagine the sanity of THAT.
But that’s where we’ve go to go.

The way you say it almost makes it sound like you think it would be a bad thing.
amen, Monkey.
I don’t think you people really get the magic of Obama. He is going to help the world change it and with it will come a wave of technological marvels in it including holograms, cheap clean energy and amazing health cures from embryonic stem cell research. So pay attention. Things are changing fast in this world already because of Obama. In six months no one will even be talking about this recession that has been going on since Bush started it up.
Right on, Mr. Monkey.
Free People inplies/needs firearms providing insurance of freedom’s continuation.
Free People insures free families-including the freedom to rise or fall.
Freedom of guaranteed opportunity is the goal-not the tyranny of guaranteed outcome.
Free markets only work effectively with no intrusion by Government using them as incentives/disincentives and with only enough oversight to insure that honest men stay honest [the purpose of most locks]. This is the logic directing smaller/less government.
Capitalism as a competition is not a free market option. It will result in only one thing a single corporate overseer. “Left to it’s own devices capitalism will devour itself.” ( A. Smith)
The free market, however, must have the attributes and parameters of capitalism to manage effectively.
Faith is the result of individual freedom and cannot be mandated by either the left or the right. True conservativism requires absolute allowance and acceptance of each other’s faith-or lack therof.
Open season according to Ted Nugent…’nuff said.
Amen on scraping out the RINOs. In PA, Arlen Specter’s seat will be up in 2010, and I’m not voting for him under any circumstances.
The question is, if the best case scenario doesn’t happen (a real Republican beats him in the primaries), should I vote for the Democrat or throw money and time into volunteering for the Libertarian candidate?
Thank you, thank you, thank you Spacemonkey!!!! I agree – NO COMPROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, the Rs that cry out about wanting us to move to the left make it easy for us; they name themselves, so now we know who needs to be voted out.
Now all we need is to get the electorate to follow suit, and vote out the RINOs.
I can’t help but notice that all five of your items are really just code words for “racist” now.
—sigh—
I want my language back from the libs.
Lots and lots of people in politics who have a little (R) thingiemadoodle by their names had a (D) there before Reagan came into office. They’re still liberal at heart, still big government – and they’re (R)uining the (R)eputation of the (R). We need to weed out the RINOs. Then, we need to weed out the politician class as a whole – no more dynasties, no more career politicians. Then we need to weed whack behind my carport. The weeds back there are high enough to conceal turncoats and false conservatives. I have reached 3 simple conclusions in my short life. First: Political power corrupts politicians. Second: Politicians are attracted to politics because they WANT the power that comes with the corruption. Third: I need to invest in a weed whacker.
Just see what being DemoCrap-Lite did for McCain. Nothing
Amen Monkey, Amen. As Rush stated, Conservatism wasn’t at all defeated. It never even made the ticket. We can thank the motor voter party jumping Dims that stacked the Primaries in favor of that RINO so a real Conservative was left out of the election entirely. Impeach the RNC. Bring back the Reaganites! Long Live the Republican Underground. Hell, I may even gain enough pride in the party that I’ll be able to stomach registering as a Republican again.
The problem with faith is which one? Shall we define Buddism? Zoroastrianism? Islam? L.D.S. ? I’m atheist. Do I get left out? The country is going to have ever more religions as we import more people.
……..how about a respect of others beliefs. I have nothing against christianity unless I am forced to subsidize it. It seems to me decent well oiled respect of one in the belief area is what you really mean.
I remember being in Cub Scouts working on the handbook projects at 8 years of age. All the god stuff….I was like “Sorry….don’t do superstition.”
We need a really clever way to show the rest of America how the economy really works. Most Americans have no clue and that is why they think there can be a free lunch for them. Maybe we could sneak it into the public school curriculum by having it embedded into the “diversity” reading list. Here’s a possible title: “Sara has Two Mommies Who Both Need to Work Because The Government Takes Half Their Money to Give it to Leteisha, Who Has No Daddy”. I’ll work on shortening the title, but you get my drift.
Well, for you Freemon, Spock said it best:
“You must have faith – that the Universe will unfold as it should.”
Kirk also said:
“What does God need with a starship?”
But the real question is:
Does God violate the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics?!
Yea, verily! When the electorate is presented with only the choices of “Genuine Democrat” and “Wannabe Democrat (R)” they’ll go with the genuine item.
All is not lost, all, as in every last one, Republican governors who ran for re-election were successful.
Ahhhh Estellea…if only I was 25 years younger, 100K richer, and had a working weed whacker!
Damn you father time *** shakes fist ***!
Hermitian: Remember Spock was the creation of a bunch of Hollywood writers attempting to buy your time with entertainment so they could resell it as a highly marked up price to advertisers. Basically an arbitrage on the very meat of your existence.
I was 4.5 years old when the Santa Claus / FEDEX analysis occurred to me in regards god. Does not matter how much time Santa gets to single handedly deliver the gifts. Faith in a god will never gain traction in / with my analysis engine.
Let’s make it even simpler: We promise to keep the ports, roads, and bridges in good repair; to maintain a stable currency; to administer impartial courts of justice; to keep the barbarians on the other side of the river; and otherwise, to stay the hell out of your hair.
My faith and my family are nobody else’s business. That’s why we have the firearms. This limited scope of government would free up a lot of time, so that Congress could avoid Washington DC in the months when its climate is unbearable (that would be the months with an “R,” or the ones without one) and the president could take lots of naps. Reagan and Coolidge took lots of naps; cranky presidents like Nixon were worse for not taking them.
I don’t think it has to be faith in any particular religion. I myself belong to no church or organized religion. i do, however, believe in that little bit of “God light” that exists in every one of us. That bit of us that causes us to do the righteous thing, to help another individual, to pick a piece of trash off the street and put it in a trash can. I think it is more a belief in right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, and the willingness and ability to choose one over the other. Plus the openness to allow those who believe strongly to do so, in peace and unfettered. Being a conservative doesn’t have to imply Christianity, or exclude it.
Revolution starts with the media. Replace the current crop of useless idiots with people who will report reality and politics will take care of itself.
I still say we sit back and watch the Obamessiah drive the nation into the ditch and set up 20% unemployment, throw open the borders for another 50-60 million illegals who he will give amnesty and bankrupt the nation. That will open the door for REAL action to remove the Liberals and restore the true Constitution. This time we will rid the nation of all liberals once and for all. Ship them all back to Europe! And the RINOs with them!
BTW, I’ve been shopping for rifles on line and THERE ARE NO GUNS to be found!
ConservativeBlossom says:
imo, there is a definite Good vs Evil thing going on – on this rock. And another good point, Conservative means “Supportive of the Constitution.” Period.
The media has twisted it to mean Religious nut. Not that there’s anything wrong with religious nuts, other than a lot of people equate that into thinking someone is going to force religion on them.
“Unless you start by believing that reality in the remotest space and the remotest time rigidly obeys the laws of logic, you can have no ground for believing in any astronomy, any biology, any paleontology, any archaeology. To reach the positions held by the real scientists – which are then taken over by the Myth – you must – in fact, treat reason as an absolute. But at the same time the Myth asks me to believe that reason is simply the unforeseen and unintended by-product of a mindless process at one stage of its endless and aimless becoming. The content of the Myth thus knocks from under me the only ground on which I could possibly believe the Myth to be true. … They say in efect ‘I will prove that what you call a proof is only the result of mental habits which result from heredity which results from bio-chemistry which results from physics.’ But this is the same as saying; ‘I will prove that proofs are irrational’: more succinctly, ‘I will prove that there are no proofs’ … That it has embedded in it many true particulars I do not doubt; but in its entirety, it simply will not do. Whatever the real universe may turn out to be like, it can’t be like that.”

There are only 4 F’s in my list thanks to my brother who thinks guns are the root of all evil and O cannot change the Constituition.

Thank you for posting that truth.
Why does everyone have such a short memory? Doesn’t anyone remember the Republicans first taking the House and the Senate from the Dems while Clinton was Pres, then taking it all when GW was elected? Did the Dems think liberalism was dead and change their game-plan?…Hell no, they went even more to the left and took it all back! People in this country ADMIRE the party that has a spine…and unfortunately, the republican party hasn’t had a spine since the Newt days (since we have spent the last 8 years appeasing the left with ‘compassionate conservatism’). Our party needs to grow a spine, people, and then we will get the votes.
Guns
I wish the NRA had the balls to call for a march on Washington. I bet we could get at least 1 mil. What a wonderful mess we could make…
A Million Rifleman March, I like it.
I just stumbled on this website, but I am beginning to feel that Republican Right Activists some how
don’t seem to understand that it was your fever for all things W and Iraq, that gave us Obama.
And to think that there are no business owners that voted for Obama, don’t believe in the free market system is completely insane.
Bush is the one with 6 years of Republican control in the Senate and the House that helped tilt everything in favor of
the Bush corporate coffers that supported his interests only.
Now that’s fascism! I would rather have a government that at least represents the needs and security of the voters.
How is Obama going to make us any less free than Bush and his CIA/FBI/NSA idiots spying on us because we all terrorist suspects, or denying people their rights
because someone SUSPECTS you might be a terrorist, come on give me a break. This was becoming a country being run by a man who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and failed at everything his father gave to him. And when he went off the deep end partying and drugging it up his career was in jeapordy, so what did he do?
He became Born Again! ” Hallelujah Praise God we have a sinner who is now Saved…Amen Brother, Praise Jesus!” His election as Governor was bought and paid for by Tom Delay and Bush’s father, knowing he would be ready for the White House once Ken Starr wasted millions of our tax dollars hunting down the Clintons on something in other civilized countries is considered comical. The stage was set for the old cold war cronies to finally get what they always wanted a President who is tainted by his past and shaped by his religious beliefs. Why did W never even consider Bin Laden as a threat and only seemed to focus on Iraq. Even after Clinton’s people told him it was Bin Laden they should focus on. Even after the CIA warned Bush that terrorists were plotting an eminent strike on U.S soil? It was a war Bush and his nut bags in the Pentagon wanted so badly. Now how does this ideology make us free? When your government represents the interests of the few and not the majority?
As for my family, I would hope that because they’re born into a family of color, or sexual orientation, or working class income earners that they have a chance to realize their American Dream just as many before them that were born into families where the odds weren’t so stacked against them.
Schools should offer all people a quality education. And hospitals should treat all people regardless of their income levels.
And we should be protected by an Armed Force against threats to the Home Land not a foreign country.
That is what I pay my taxes for now, and what I hope my kids and their kids will realize when they are able to go out into the world.
As for Faith more people have died in the name of religion than any thing else in world history.
That is something that should remain personal not imposed by any government or President.
AS for firearms, Oh Please! We live in a society that you actually think a President is going to take away your right to own fire arms?
Sounds like a Rush Limbaugh scare tactic to me. QUESTION: Name the last Democrat that took your guns away? Just like I can’t name a Republican who took abortion rights away. Two hot button issues no candidate would dare change. So don’t worry about your right to shoot a hole in your foot. You can still do that.
Republicans need to start thinking of prosperity and opportunity for the voters, not just the wealthy WASPS that go to their political fundraisers.
I’m Out!
wrxman,
Bush funded the entire Obama presidential campaign. McCain was just a diversion, planted by Rove, he was trying to get Obama into office so the war could be dragged out forever. Sure Obama was made promised about getting us out of Iraq. But think about it, if he really wanted to get us out of Iraq he never would have traveled there. Obama’s been elected, and are we out of Iraq? Not at all, we advancing into Syria. What do think the meeting behind closed doors in the Oval office with Bush was about? You think they accidentally wore identical suits and ties? Get real.
Anagram For Barack Hussein Obama = A Smokier Bush Cabana
Translation: The only difference in a Bush White House and an Obama White House is Barack smokes
Everything has fallen exactly as laid out and the beauty of it, You won’t say anything against Obama even though secretly he’s Bush the Third.
I just can’t believe you idiots fell for it.
Okay, very interesting, I see more clearly now. NOT!
Not one day in office and he’s Bush. There are issues Obama has inherited from Bush, But he ain’t No Bush!
No way no how.
Haha, spacemonkey. I’m going to use that whenever I’m in a Bush-Obama debate.

“More people have died in the name of religion than anything else in world history.”
Does that include the 100 million plus killed in the 20th century by those famous religious leaders Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot and Kim Jong-Il?
“Just who has imposed on the suffering human race poison gas, barbed wire, high explosives, experiments in eugenics. the formula for Zyklon B, heavy artillery, pseudo-scientific justifications for mass murder, cluster bombs, attack submarines, napalm, intercontinental ballistic missiles, military space platforms, and nuclear weapons?
If memory serves, it was not the Vatican.”
