I Can’t Imagine Specter Doing ANYTHING Very Fast

[YouTube direct link]

In this video (around 1:27, but watch it all to enjoy Sebelius getting booed), Senator Specter talks about how, with a large bill, he’ll split it into sections, give it to his staff, and let them tell him what’s in it.

Not acceptable, Senator Specter.

Read it. Read it all. It’s your job.

Read the full bill.

Or, as your constituents will soon be telling you in every letter, phone call, and e-mail…

RTFB

I’m pretty sure the “F” stands for “full”. I’ll have my staff look into it and report back to me.

After they finish spray-painting it on your car.

  1. I don’t know, we”re paying these people how much again? And their job is? Mayhaps if they start voting down all bills too large and complicated to be read in one sitting we’d get rid of 98 % of the waste, pork and influence peddling going on in DC (District of Corruption).

How about a bill that demands that all bills be in Manga form? That way there’d be pictures to help out the literary impaired like Mr. Conyers, Specter, and her royal spendyness Queen Katherine Spendalotus.

Think of all the graphic artist they’d put to work. I call this a win-win situation.

  2. More and more, the congress acts like a bunch of car salesman. Oh, wait a minute, they own a couple car companies don’t they?

Maybe they need to only write as many bills each as they read and debate fully with time for public comment. Oh, and hearings! Remember when they used to hold those?

  3. I’m pretty sure the F stands for ‘friendly’,
you know, like when you are having computer trouble
like the cupholder breaks, or you can’t find the “any” key,
    and the IT guy growls”RTFM”
which means “read the friendly manual”.

  4. Another teachable moment. According to the government press:

Disruptive people at a Republican town hall = Patriotic Americans exercising their right to free speech

Distruptive people at a Democrat town hall = Angry mob organized by right wing special interest groups

  5. Wow.. I thought the mob was about to haul Spector outside and lynch him. (wait, is it racist now to use that term? Probably not since Spector is as cracker as they come…)

No big loss if they had. He is nothing but a dithering opportunist who is hell-bent on destroying all that has made this country great in effort to further his own personal ambition.

… but I have no real opinion on the man… 😉

  6. I won’t be telling Specter a damn thing. Those days are over. I will joyfully rush to the polls next November to eagerly vote against that piece of garbage. Then I will go home and hang out my effigy of Rendell.
