So a seventeen year old girl in Brazil has confessed to killing thirty men with a knife. That’s kinda hard to fathom. Now, I’ve never killed anyone with a knife, but it sounds messy. I bet most people after killing someone with a knife are like, “That was not pleasant. I should not do that again.” But apparently, some people are like, “That was fun. I should find other opportunities to do that.”
Also, the article mentions that just recently in Brazil a TV show host was arrested for arranging killings to boost his rating. What’s going on in Brazil? These two are pretty much Batman-level supervillians as is.
Anyway, I nominate them both for Obama’s death panel.

Police in Brazil must be dumber than a box of rocks if a teenager got away with it 30 times. Then again it’s hard to focus on logic when everyone is wearing string thongs.
Apparently Brazil needs knife control laws. If they did, this kind of senseless killing wouldn’t have happened. I mean, who was this knife registered to? It obviously made it into her hands via knife trafficking from the U.S. It is so obvious that she is a good, innocent girl, and that easy access to knives has turned her into a mad killer. I blame Bush.
It’s all because Obama is sending them money.
Simple explaination; handguns are almost impossible to own legally in Brazil, she had to use a knife.

Knife registries are pretty awesome! The wife and I registered for some before we got married, and 12 years later, we’re still using them. I guess the only downside is that Obama knows we have them. I’ll make sure to file off the serial numbers when I get home.
I’m not admitting to anything here, but let’s just say she’s got my record beat by about 29 times. And mine was kind of an accident…sorta. Besides, we live in America; no need to take a knife to a semi-automatic gunfight.

Has anyone eaten in an airport restaurant in the last 8 or so years? Plastic knives have been our salvation there — of course, they’re worthless for slicing food. Brazil may be on the fast-track to plastic murder weapons of choice. Drano in the morning coffee, anyone?
As for nominating our unqueasy neighbors to the south for Death Panels or Cabinet slots, we’ll have to check first to make certain they’re adequately behind in their income tax payments.
My sister-in-law is going through that, but thanks to the hormone treatments she should level off well before thirty. Do you get extra credit for using your bare hands?

The problem lies with the stridently right wing Associação Nacional de Faca ( ANF) or in English the National Knife Association. While many of the Brazilian people say they want knife control, the ANF has blocked all efforts to give the country safe and sane knife laws. The vehement opposition of the ANF with it’s motto, ‘You’ll have to pry my knife from my cold dead hand,’ has played an integral role in stifling the will of the people. Recently a bill which would have required replacement of all knives in Brazil with harmless disposable plastic picnic knives went down to defeat. To further the safety of the general populace this bill would also have required these knives to be kept in child proof safes. However, the bill was defeated due to the machinations of the predominantly right wing ANF. The ANF successfully convinced ruling and opposition politicians alike to vote no. They accomplished this by claiming that keeping plastic knifes locked in child proof safes would do little to reduce crime, and would endanger the general law abiding populace by adversely effecting their ability to properly cut their steaks and chops at dinner time. Another law to keep knifes out of the hands of people people under the age of eighteen went down to similar defeat after the ANF successfully argued that most people in Brazil under the age of eighteen (or over the age of eighteen for that matter) settle their disputes with guns or clubs. Currently any hope for safe and sane knife control in Brazil is considered a dead issue by most knowledgeable politicians.
