A great summary of the Obama presidency from Iowahawk in text adventure form.
Though I’m familiar with text adventure tropes (“can’t get ye flask”), I’ve never actually played one (did try writing my own in BASIC, though). They were just a little bit before my time. I played the original King’s Quest and Space Quest and Police Quest with the text parser, but a game without graphics? What am I? A caveman?
Iowahawk has always had the balance of enlightened humor and poignant topicality…in other other words, thier lastest twas incredibly freakin’ funny. Our President is not the intellectual post-modern (i.e. post-racial and post-partisan) that has been hyped by our MFM elitist betters.

Iowahawk is the funniest man alive. I was waiting for Rham to die of dysentery of the mouth.
What? You just forfeited a life’s worth of geek cred right there! Hasten thee to a shareware archive and start downloading. Install a Commodore 64 emulator if you have to. Just do it, man!
Dysentery of the mouth? A true geek woul;d have expected the whole Administration to be eaten by a grue.
Oh that was fun. Especially that one line that kinda jumps out at you. Heh heh.
No. Caveman is reserved for us kids raised in the 50’s and 60’s, Frank. Not you Reagan/Bush/Clinton kids.
When I was young we actually had games with a stick and a ball…and sometimes just a ball. Primitive, I know, but we got to beat the hell out of each other and learned how to win and lose with grace…and there were no such thing as “hacks”.
Reminds me a little of MUD’s. God I’m old.
But, on the upside, that was funny as heck. 🙂
So when someone said “you are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike” you just pretended to know what was going on and laughed along.
When I was your age, we had to browse the internet with a text-based browser! And we didn’t have those crazy cars all you whippersnappers drive around in nowadays. We had to ride our dinosaurs to school! Uphill both ways! In the snow! All summer long!
I LOL’d. For real. I came up with really creative excuses to drive to school to stop by my friends house to play Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Text based on his Commodore 64. That and Battle Chess. I’d say thanks but you made me feel really, really old. Bastard.
OK, hard not to notice my post was unacceptable [12+ hours ago]…something wrong? Perhaps I am not a regular clown that has passed muster in your limited estimation.

Thanks for not extending me the constitutional rights I have defended and allowed you cowards to enjoy from the comfort of your livingrooms. Sad and pitiful. Perhaps more of my friends need to die to make the point clear…though you seem to enjoy posting our “kill TV”…what are you guys really about?
Pisspoor…whatever.
D&D with dice &paper & pencils, DM used the original book by Gygax. Street cred out my backside, but only with other >50 year old gamers, which is sorta like being a >50 year old former star athlete, except fewer chicks. Lots fewer chicks.
#12 – Pieter Nosworthy, Chill, dude!
Did you get ‘moderated’?
That ain’t nothin but a thang – be glad you didn’t get that -Ed guy after you.
(he can be mean!) 😉
PS: Iowahawk Rocks!
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, Select, Start.
Oops that failed. Its supposed to be B, A

Really…. You going to throw military rank around here? Playing the military card is worse than playing a race card. If you really are military then you should know better. Did you learn everything you needed to know about being a NCO by watching John Goodman’s charecter in The Big Lewbouski”. Some word you used in your posting tripped the sites language filter. Not some slight toward you. Man up!
I use to run DOS on a GRID laptop with Wordstar, Lotus 123 and CC Mail! When I was in high school the coolest invention we ever saw was the overhead projector!
