Bet Obamacare Covers This

[High Praise! to Technabob]

Anyone else creeped out by the possibilities of this little gadget?

A sensor embedded in a tooth could one day tell doctors when people have defied medical advice to give up smoking or eat less. Built into a tiny circuit board that fits in a tooth cavity, the sensor includes an accelerometer that sends data on mouth motion to a smartphone.

Machine learning software is taught to recognise each telltale jaw motion pattern, then works out how much of the time the patient is chewing, drinking, speaking, coughing or smoking.

  1. I think this is a good idea for people who have serious psychological disorders such that they really do have no self control. The part that creeps me is not the device, but the pretend elites who assume the common guy is lesser being who has to be taken care of. So I guess we’ll be seeing this in Bloomberg’s NYC….

  2. Who’s to say the effects cannot be reversed and this thing could actively turn us all into Progressive Robots ?
While it’s not needed by any L I V they’re always looking for more ‘converts’ to the cause, voluntary or not.
Free Stuff, Unicorn Dust Bunnies and Joe Biden’s encouragement doesn’t always work for a lot of us,
so this is a logical next step. If you see a random push-button placed somewhere you didn’t ever have one,
rest-assured you won’t ‘see it’ for long.
Selective Blindness is another feature of this chip’s abilities……….

  3. I would have said “meh!” to this product before Obamacare was passed. Before that, belief that there may be a requirement to have something like this implanted in us sounded paranoid; now the product seems a little more creepy.
