I go as far back as 5.25″. And my dad’s TRS-80 used regular audio tapes to store data. I thought that re-purposing of tapes was the coolest thing ever.
I can remember as a kid listening to Superman and the Lone Ranger (among other things) on the radio, long before we owned a TV. Don’t know anything about floppy disks though……………
Our first was a Vic 20. I remember spending hours typing in machine code, then looking for the stupid mistakes, just to perform some simple task. Then I would forget to save to tape!
Raise your hand if you ever owned an 8″ disk drive.

@3 – I was a TRS-80 & cassette tape guy, too. Don’t think I’m your dad, though…
What are you old guys talking about?? 🙂
@6 – Hush, thumb-drive smartphone girl! 😛
RAML, I like the cut of your jib!
Not to brag, but I used to program an 8K card machine. Never worked with a machie with hard wiring though.

20K punch card computer. Printer was offline and used punch cards; had to wire a board so it could print.
Mylar/Paper tape and hollerith cards.
…and raise your hand if you ever heard Grace Hopper speak.
I had the Color Computer not the trash 80.
(and I still have my nanosecond)
