There You Go
An architect has designed a 600-foot-tall “city on wheels” that would let an urban population just roll down the road if commerce or resources dry up.
Might work, if the part containing its government is detachable.
A Novel Alternative to Obamacare
[High Praise! to Transterrestrial Musings]
OK, so what’s to keep someone, or multiple someones (competition!) from setting up off-shore gambling sites where, based on their age, gender, medical and family history, people can make bets on whether or not their annual medical expenses will exceed some selected amount? Currency controls?
The fact that the federal government would fight this is a stark testament to what a huge encroachment on liberty this monstrosity is.

And It’s Not Covered, Either

Obama Warned Us – The Past
Whatever we think of the past, we must not be prisoners to it.
BARACK OBAMA, speech, Jun. 4, 2009
“Yes, I know I said ‘if you like your past, you can keep your past’, but…”
50 years later and the reporting of news remains the same
This week, as the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination passes, I’ve noticed that some have lamented how much the quality of news reporting has declined.
They take the approach that news anchors used to report news, but now, not so much.
Well, that’s not really true.
Here’s a CBS report from November 22, 1963, when the news of the shooting of the president was just breaking.
At 3:38 of this video, we hear that bastion of news reporting, Walter Cronkite, suggest who may be responsible.
[YouTube]
It might be recalled that Dallas has been a hotbed of criticism of President Kennedy and his administration by outspoken rightist groups. Only two weeks ago, ah, Ambassador Adlai Stevenson of the United Nations was in an incident in Dallas when he was besieged by pickets, er, right-wing pickets, outside the speech he made there, and he was struck in the head with a picket sign by an outraged conservative who felt we should not be in the United Nations.
So, right off the bat, after word of the shooting but before the president was pronounced dead, CBS was suggesting that right-wingers were responsible.
And, of course, who killed the president?
Lee Harvey Oswald, a left-winger, a communist, a supporter of Castro’s Cuba.
It’s not news to me that the news reporters always seek to blame the right for violence. It’s also not news to me that it’s often the left-wingers that commit the violence.
I’m Not Racist, But Some of My Best Friends Hate Obamacare

Anonymiss of Nuking Politics picked her favorite punchlines to “A new report shows the government faked unemployment data just before the 2012 elections. Also being faked…”
Click here to see if you made the cut.
If you did, you should probably email Keln about becoming a guest blogger there.
If you didn’t, Anonymiss has got another straight line for you to practice on.
Keep trying. No one likes a quitter.

Works like this: I feed you Moon Nukers a straight line, and you hit me with a punch line in the comments.

From Dallas, Texas, the flash, apparently official, President Kennedy is on the roof and won’t come down.
Too soon?
Random Thoughts: Doorknobs, Majority Votes, and the Filibuster
Never pass a law unless you really think the government should shoot someone over the issue.
Do people understand how laws have teeth? It’s because people with guns will enforce them. You’re threatening violence about doorknobs.
A liberal is quickly becoming someone very willing to make violent threats over minor issues.
Well, if your problem was not enough of Obama’s judicial nominees were being approved, that one is solved.
This is pretty good timing since the Obamacare fiasco should hand the GOP a majority in the senate.
Can we now have a majority vote on ending Obamacare?
What’s it take to convince the left that absolutely nothing will give them momentum on gun control again?
Yes, we know politicians are hypocritical. They’re all awful people. STOP GIVING THEM POWER TO DO THINGS!
The only good government is a small government.
Obama would be even more unpopular if people weren’t just so used to a horrible economy by now.
I’ll never get tired of making fun of the non-job that was Obama’s claim to fame.
At this point in the Obama presidency, we were supposed to be talking about how we needed to repeal the 22nd Amendment.
Experiment: Lock away New York Times staff for 10 yrs so they don’t know who holds the Senate; have them write editorial on whether to keep filibuster.
Not making same mistakes my parents did; starting my kids with assembly so they’ll know how computers work before moving to high level languages.
Last One Out, Get the Lights
Two more high-profile reporters and an editor are the latest to choose to leave the New York Times.
Ah, the New York Times – the MySpace of newspapers.
