…and then what’s left over with a combination of ATM cards from various empty bank accounts, all while arguing with the spouse over WHO spent that money and reassuring everyone else waiting in line they they WILL find the right combination of plastic cards to pay for their purchase.

I have taken to the safe route of always using “yore”.

The polite scorn of Canadians is almost imperceptible. I would opt for the slightly impolite scorn of Canadians.
