Socialism works well if society is dominated by low IQ goombahs. And those that do produce only do so with the permission and control of the “government” – but with demand for their products guaranteed, of course. This makes Socialism and “crony Capitalism” perfect bedfellows.
It’s the “people are basically stupid” model of human existence. Keep ’em stupid, give ’em money and they will buy what you want them to – while they perpetually vote you into office.
I have a very specific problem with ‘The Bern’ that keeps getting glossed over….. Comrade Sanders talks a great talk about how he is going to get Rich to pay ‘their fair share’ in order to do all these other things. All those other things sound good and I’m not Rich so taxing them sounds good too goes the thinking of the low-information-voter.
But!
Never a word is said about all the taxes ALREADY being collected and used for whatever they are being used for. Never a word about fixing whatever issues already exists in government. Never a word about tax reform and making what is already in place work better or faster or anything. All that is ever said is what else Government is going to get for you, never anything about what the Government already gets from us.
Tell us Comrade Sanders…. what about all the tax money the government already collects? What about all the debt already in place? What about all the existing budget deficits? What about all the government programs already in place?

The problem with democracy is that all you have to do is convince the dumbest 50% of a population that you’re right and you rule the world. The dumbest 50% plus your one vote give you majority. The easiest way to accomplish this is to demonize the 50% that isn’t fooled and promise to “get even” with those evil people that make you feel dumb by always being smarter than you.
An old poll shows that the majority of Democrats don’t have a clue what socialism is or that Hitler and Stalin were both “socialists”. Another old poll shows that the majority of Democrats under 40 don’t even know who Hitler and Stalin are, just a coincidence that the people who “educated” them are the ones who say socialism communism is wonderful.
Wait’ll the little darlings find out that, under most socialist governments, those who don’t work go to jail. O yeah, and the government decides who can be an artist or an actor. If the government doesn’t think you make the cut, off to the factories you go.
I guess none of these berning fools have ever talked to any refugees from a socialist country, or picked up a book even.

Which society are they using as a positive example? USSR? Cuba?, North Korea?, East Germany?
Positive impact like a land mass causing a hurricane to weaken and die. Death and destruction… but a positive impact none the less.
