the idea of milling the rings out of a single block was interesting. Shane Co. has a video in their stores showing how rings are cast using the lost wax method. They start by gluing a bunch of the wax rings onto a cone. The cast product is called a sprue tree, and the jewelers cut the rings off with a fine hacksaw.
