  1. A famous scientist dies on pi day. That is a coincidence.

A famous atheist scientist dies on pi day. That is evidence that God has a sense of whimsy.

Can you refute my pi day conclusion conclusio without using circular logic?

  2. I was searching for a complete version of the Star Spangled Banner and came across this version which had a third verse version I had never heard before. It turns out it is actually a fifth verse added by Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. in 1861 because of the Civil War. It is particular relevant, I think, to what is going on in the country these days. I also think the fourth verse should be played a lot more often.

  3. How about a good old Southern car chase tonight? Only problem with this is the original poster added some God awful background music to the clip that is totally not needed. I do like the ending though.

  4. Nat “King” Cole, who started out as a jazz pianist and morphed into one of the great singers, was born March 17, 1919, in Montgomery, Alabama. He was also the first black performer to have his own network television program. It’s not the season for it, but here he is singing “The Christmas Song” by Mel Torme and Bob Wells. Notice how he consistently resists the temptation to be over-demonstrative in his singing. That is true artistry for you:
