Are we the last generation that is going to enjoy the pleasure of pointing out people’s funny names?
To me “Cuthbert J. Meowmix” would be a funny name. But someone raised in our weird indoctrination schools would bristle at the suggestion that it is, and would proceed to describe how unfair it is of me to make fun of someone’s name.
Fair enough.
But life isn’t fair. “Garbage von Bananaskin” is a funny name, and that’s certainly not fair. I can still laugh at the unfairness of the name. And the name itself.
We may not all have the same sense of humor, but shouldn’t diversity in senses of humor be celebrated? If not, shouldn’t unity in the judgment that certain names are funny be celebrated? One or the other, please.
If someone is named “Juan Valdez,” it may be suspicious to make fun of the name, per se. But if he is not the famous character from the coffee commercials, I say it’s justifiable to make a jest upon the subject. Again, a leftist would recoil in horror. As they would if I commented on “Joe Wiley Coyote.”
Hence the question with which this post started.

But whenever they wish to, they will construct some reason to bristle at anything. Someone, somewhere, told them that it was illegal to make someone bristle; although not true, they will use this lever at every opportunity.
I read elsewhere that the NFL is hemorrhaging money on the Super Bowl, because their traditional big advertisers have decided not to submit advertisements. They are saying that in the current crazy social atmosphere, any ad they could possibly make would inevitably offend some group, so why bother?
I, for one, welcome our new cannibal social overlords.

They drive me crazy
When I was in high school my two best friends went to a different high school. They had two famous people go to their high school and I had one famous person go to my high school but that’s a comment for later.
This is about a substitute teacher that they had at their school. His name was ShartshoftenburgernagleswartzVonlichtenstein.
I thought it was a joke name. Until he showed up as a sub at my school.
We had a French teacher named Miss Coco.
We just called her Hot Coco.
These lovely ladies did not go to my High School but the next district over. Close enough I say.
