You may (or may not) have noticed that I have been blogging a bit less lately. Things are busy at work so I haven’t had much time to blog or even follow the news during the day. Luckily, other people have stuff to read, too.
Rachel Lucas points out that if you don’t want to see your baby dead, don’t kill him or her. Abortion debate ensues.
And, when someone you disagree with plummets to their death, is that funny? Emperor Misha I thinks so, my arch-nemesis Scrappleface seems to think the same, and, of course, Laurence Simon finds it funny as well, but Alex Knapp says no. As for me, I say, “Mu-hah-hah-hah!”
Finally, Kim du Toit takes the Glock down a notch. It’s a great gun, but frankly I have a lot of trouble trusting my life to plastic.

Plastic, ceramic, and carbon-fiber gets you through a metal detector. 😉
RE: “Plastic, ceramic, and carbon-fiber gets you through a metal detector. ;)”
Not with a gun, numbnuts.
Laurence makes a good point. Unfortunately, they make the slide out of metal still, so you could only sneak through with the the gun’s handle which is so light it’s no good for pistol whipping.
Bullets are metal too.
Are you sure? I guess the only way to check is to try and walk them through a metal detector.
Has anyone else been having problems getting to Kim du Toit’s site?
I like Glocks. Especially the 21 loaded with .45 HydraShoks. Also there’s still metal in a Glock frame after you take the slide off. They don’t make the firing pin out of nylon you know.
The story about the tree-hugger going splat brought a tiny tear unbidden to the corner of my eye. A tear of happiness.
David,
What kind of trouble getting to Kim’s site?
The “Geek and Websites Manager” Mrs.
Hey, I’ve stripped and cleaned plenty of Glocks and know how much metal is in them. And, I don’t mean to say they aren’t great guns, either, because they are. I’m just saying they’re not my style.
I haven’t had any trouble getting to Kim du Toit’s webpage. Maybe it was a temporary thing.
the “safety” on a glock has always worried me. I would never consider it as a carry gun for that reason.
Currently I carry a Walther PPK/S, and I put in double-action and leave the safety off and I’m happy with that. I also have a Walther P99 which has no external safety, but does have a de-cocking button which makes the trigger pull stiff enough on the first shot to make me feel safe. But the Glock trigger pull is takes too little pressure to leave me at ease.
