Ronin Thought of the Day

From Hagakure: The Book of the Samurai:

Because of some business, Morooka Hikoemon was called upon to swear before the gods concerning the truth of a certain matter. But he said, “A samurai’s word is harder that metal. Since I have impressed this fact upon myself, what more can the gods and Buddhas do?” and the swearing was cancelled.

Be of sound virtue, and never stand being questioned of it.

    Virtue has a sound?
It’s not a Bronx Cheer is it? The sound of one hand clapping? The Sound of Music? The sound of hippie flesh being, uh soundly, bitch-slapped into their next sorry incarnation (probably a cockroach) by the S.M.I.T.E. Lazer?
What sound could a Virtue sound if a Virtue could sound sound?

I either need to get a life or a new job… Not sure which. Hmmmm….

I said, “But judge, I feel pretty content saying that you’re a jackoff.”
    Seems I minced my words.
