Here’s one interesting case we may here those against John Roberts complain about. Apparently he upheld and arrest, handcuffing and detention of a 12-year-old girl for eating a single french fry inside a D.C. Metrorail station. That seems a little extreme. I can understand all that for an onion ring, but one french fry? I don’t know how that will go over with Joe-Six-Pack and Bubba-Jug-of-Moonshine.
What could lead to such extremism? Was Roberts attack by one of the McDonalds Fry-Guys has a child? I don’t know, but Fry-gate could sink him!

It was a mind altering french fry. That’s what the press isn’t telling you. The handcuffs were to keep her from trying to get the bugs out from under her skin.
I don’t see what the problem is. This little reprobate was eating a French Fry, not a Freedom Fry, a FRENCH Fry. She probably surrender to authorities before she swallowed. Might have even had her own hand cuffs with her. I understand her name is “Pippy Chirac”

I am not sure that bait would work for Michael Moore. He is a bottom feeder. You would probably have to stick it up your bottom for him to be interested.
Next thing you know the SCOTUS will rule 12 yr old girls are unconstitutional, or at least that french fries are unconstitutional.
The real criminal was not the child, but the faceless corporation that allowed the child, a sweet innocent and presumably previously healthy and thin child, to have the fat and cholesterol laden death bomb. No wonder over half our children are obese! Death to McDonalds!
It’s about time we cracked down on these scofflaws.

Sure he said it was ok to handcuff her and haul her away, but he also said that it would probably be a violation of the Constitution if they sent her to Guantanamo and designating her as an enemy combatant would be ‘problematic’. I think those two stances will be harder to gloss over.
I’d find the specifics of that case before passing judgement. It sounds just like one of those teasers from the news: “a little girl was arrested today for carrying her teddy bear on the bus” while leaving out the phrase “full of crack” that originally followed “teddy bear.”
Anyway, from what I understand, Judge Roberts thought it was a rediculous situation, but that no rules or procedures were broken. Isn’t that what a judge should do: Rule on rules and procedures, not what he wishes would have happened?
