I was visiting this site today discussing the worst SNL players of all time. I agree that Julia Sweeney wasn’t one of the best, and I agree that the Pat sketches were some of the worst dreck ever presented. HOWEVER, the movie It’s Pat is comedy genius. Somehow a horrible sketch idea, was transformed into cinematic brilliance. It is pure comedy gold. I’ve seen it dozens of times, and rank it in my personal top 10 comedy movies. Go get it NOW!
And Pat’s gender is STILL a mystery!

Somebody once called me a “sweater-knitting Pat,” referring to this character. The guy who called me that must have had no eyes. While I was indeed knitting a sweater, I’m also terribly busty and had long hair– definitely NOT of ambiguous gender.
I HAVE had the misfortune of seeing this movie and I MUST say I regret not being able to have the 90 minutes back it took to watch this movie. I could have washed dishes or something.
Wacky Hermit, perhaps your name confused him. Both the terms “Wacky” and “Hermit” are usually applied to males. 🙂
