Will Republicans Have an Opportunity to Get the Black Vote?

I keep hearing that the Democrats could be on the verge of an all out race war if they use their superdelegates to make Hillary their nominee over Obama.
That would be awesome.
There are lots of people of color who only don’t vote for Republican because of the fact that they don’t vote for Republicans. It’s very frustrating, because we know there are votes there but aren’t sure any effort will get them to pull the lever for someone with an ‘R’ by his name. Lately, blacks have been voting Democrats over Republicans something like 90% versus 10%. But guess what? That’s also how they split in the primaries in Obama versus Hillary. If Hillary takes the nomination anyway — completely disregarding the vote through the use of superdelegates — that could make people so mad that it could finally tear down that wall that came up some time during last century that keep blacks from flocking to the Republicans.
We just have to hope that Hillary will be that arrogant and the Democrats that stupid… and there is nothing Hillary likes more than being arrogant and the Democrats enjoy more than being stupid.

  1. The irony of it all is, historically the Republican party was the party for blacks. The Democrats were the ones who seceded from the United States, owned the slaves and wrote the Jim Crow laws, while the Republicans formed in Wisconsin as the abolition party.
And the Democrats still treat them like slaves, forcing them to accept the candidates the Democrat party puts out.

  2. In a biography of LBJ that I read a long time ago, he is reported to have said, after signing the Voting Rights Act, that the democrats would have the black vote sewn up for 40-50 years. Looks like he was spot-on.

  3. Informer, again, you show your ignorance. It’s not the “… Republicker warmongers party… “, it’s the “vast right-wing, gun toting, Bible thumping, fundy, BusHitlerBurton goose-stepping, racist, narcist, sexist, hate filled torture party”.
… then again, “warmonger” fits better on the business cards. Thanks for the suggestion.

  4. Frank will you make a post someday called Obama: The Black Jimmy Carter? I don’t know what else to put in the post though. That’s your job. You blog. We read and make comments. I guess the titles are your job too. Maybe it isn’t a very good title after all. I’m all sad now. Maybe someone could at least tell me my title is pretty kick ass.

  5. I can’t put a lot of stock in the whole Obama/Bloomberg idea being all that realistic. I just don’t see why Bloomberg would want to be the Veep to the Obamessiah.
It would make for a VERY interesting campaign this fall though. Which is of course why it will not happen, it would be too interesting.

  6. Pop Quiz
Who ended slavery? Answer – Republicans
Who ended segregation? Answer – Republicans
The greatest trick the Dems ever pulled was making blacks think they had ever done a damn thing for them. Of course, performing daily tasks such as driving, walking, typing, etc. with their heads up their asses is also impressive.

  7. Okay, Nate, that is a pretty kick a$$ title. Now don’t go thinking we’re friends or anything.
I personally am loving the possibility of a Thunderdome type smack-down between the lovely Mrs. C. and B. Hussein. It will be the only really entertaining thing about this whole election process this time around.

  8. Wow. Thanks neocon cowgirl! I also want to see a Clinton-Obama Thunderdome battle. Well, as long as Obama doesn’t win it. He scares me a lot. Makes me worry about the future of our country if he was president.

  9. Negroes will never vote for Republicans as a large voting block because they have decided to cede their thinking and decision making to a few like Jackson, Sharpton and other Uber Liberals. Also, dealing with Negroes is not very appealing to today’s Republican (and I’m no longer a Republican myself) because today’s Republican is the country club, big shot, party insider type! They certainly don’t give a rats ass about us conservatives. When it comes to Negroes I’m guessing that gets a pretty good laugh at party meetings…

  10. The Obaminator as 3rd party spoiler. I love it. Who will be his veep? Ralph Nader, of course.
Informer: you are too stupid to live and you carry a big sign that says “follow me.” I don’t think so.

  11. When you say, “race war”, I can’t help but think of Cartman egging on Stan and Token in the “Naggers” episode of South Park.
Speaking of, when thinking of all out war between Clinton and Obama, I tend to think of Mecha-Strisand and some sort of 100-foot-tall tanned-Don-Knotts-looking uber-douche. He’s apparently just as good at the politics of personal destruction as the Clintons’ (http://www.townhall.com/columnists/GuyBenson/2008/02/17/the_opportunistic_rise_of_barack_obama?page=full&comments=true), and Michelle Obama is a nut who wants to take over every aspect of our lives and souls (http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/MediaPlayer/AudioPlayer.aspx?ContentGuid=9e3a08aa-ad84-46cf-8492-6aff289bca42). Allrighty then.
Am I the only one who thinks no matter who gets elected, it’s a one-termer?

  12. Y’all really need to vote for the Hillary in Texas, Ohio, and PA. Do not let BHO gain more momentum and put the convention out of reach for Hillary. A nightmare at the convention is exactly what we and this country need. Support Hillary now, and no I am not kidding.

  13. If I were Obama I’d be worried about getting VF’d (Vince Fostered) by the Klintons..I’ll bet Hilly and Billy sit around playing Barack Obama Reloaded. Don’t be surprised if he gets whacked before the convention. That way the schadenfreud tear-jerking skank of the century can whine for more gun control and maybe salvage some more of the black vote. I feel sorry for the blacks, what with they ‘massas’ in the Demokratic party herding them like dogs to return to the party vomit. I disagree with Obama, but so far he seems like a likeable guy. The Klintons will roll over him somehow, probably with superdelegates. If this happens, I don’t see a possible win for the Demokrats, as they will lose the black vote. McCain may not get it, but neither will the Klintons
