  1. Well, this really isn’t bad enough to wave the white flag. So she thinks it’s unethical to deport a few million illegals – I can wince and understand where she’s comming from when she mentions that daunting task. Of all the issues today, I don’t believe that providing “a path to citizenship” to illegals makes her moderate.

This is comming from a guy who has had 5 cars in my family hit – all by illegals – in less than 3 years. At least of they were citizens they would have some insurance and be easier to track down (I hope).

  2. One of the valid points made by Guiliani during his campaign was that if I agree with you on 90% of the issues, I am not your enemy. Also agree that she can’t come out against McCain on this at this point of the campaign.

  3. The McAmnesty words are there, but notice the wiggle room. It’s all in terms of people who are here legally versus those who aren’t. Sort of.

But I wish she’d said: “I want to know that when I walk down the street or see a protest march that all of the people there are citizens like me, with the same, undivided loyalty to this country that my own immigrant ancestors had.”

That’s why I’m so disgusted with the Guest Worker Program idea. It creates an official underclass of people whose loyalty I have to question, with no effective way to tell immigrant citizen and guest worker apart.

    Oh, and English only.

  4. Thompson is not energetic enough. He could never make it through. Its understandable as he had cancer. I am a right wing as you can get but you have to consider what Palin said as realistic. This is not 1 or 2 people. its 10 to 20 million. It gets into the realm of thermodynamics and statistics at this level. At that point you have to consider “not touching” the problem. I say no amnesty but not alot of work done to move them out. That way there is a penalty function applied yet we acculturate the Mexicans to Anglo Saxon management / legal methods. Then as this information trickles back into Mexico sooner or later Mexico will become a better place to live.

  5. Jindal!! I l-o-v-e love him. Everything he says is quick, to the point, substantive and articulate. His speeches would be like 3 minutes long with a nice round of cheering and a BBQ after. THe intellectuals on the left will be left with their jaw on the ground.

I would like to see Jindal somewhere on teh 2012 ticket.

  6. Ugh. Just when I had reached a level where I was losing my nausea at the thought of Lettuce McCain having the Oval Office, Palin says that and brings the bile back up in political dry heaves.

As a citizen of a Border state, I have no sympathy, and I don’t care how much it costs. I want every illegal deported and that border sealed. Full Stop. We got to where we are today by people rationalizing the need for the illegals. Stop making excuses. Kick them out. A law breaker is a law breaker and their loyalties are to their native country. Anyone making any excuses for not deporting every last damned illegal is tacitly supporting the invasion of one’s own nation.

Too bad if you don’t like the thought, but that makes you a traitor by inaction. And the apologists traitors through overt action. Stop rationalizing crime and enforce the damned law.

I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain to keep Stalin out of the White House, but screw that now. I’m voting third party. Voting should never be about the lesser of two evils, and if we keep doing it, it’ll continue to be our only choice. I left the Republican party when they tried the Great Bargain/Amnesty plan. The battered wife eventually has to leave the abusive husband.

I just hope the rest of this once great party can overcome its Battered Wife Syndrome, and vote in real Conservatives, rather than any jackass with an R next to their name.

  7. When will people realize that you DON’T have to physically lay your hands on every single illegal to deport them? When will folks realize that a wall will NOT keep them out? You want illegals gone, you have to create a ‘mental’ barrier to their existence here and a psychological wall to keep them out. Here are the three things you do:

    1. Clamp down heavily on employers: No job? No reason to come here or to stay if you’re already here. Want proof? McCain’s own state has been hitting employers hard and is practically hemorrhaging illegals this year. But wait, I hear the cry of the ‘We can’t do it crowd…’

Hippy: What about the employers who are fooled by fake info?

Intelligent Person: Pass friggin’ biometric data legislation!

Hippy: But that can be forged.

Intelligent Person: Not as easily as a crappy piece of paper, and there’s no way a dirt poor illoegal will be able to afford the forgery, considering the high tech cost of the materials needed.

Hippy: But what about invasion of privacy? The man is out ot get me!

Intelligent Person: Get real, there is no one in this country who hasn’t given out the same info 1000 times or more. Now stop making stupid excuses before I smash your stupid monkey face.

    2. Repeal Birthright Citizenship: Just because you drop a sprog in this country shouldn’t qualify you to bypass all the laws, tests and standrads necessary to be an American citizen. And it is exactly this problem that gives the libtards the ammo for making everyone legal. Quoth the Libtard:

Hippy: Sending back the parents breaks up the family! Conservatives hate families!

Intelligent Person: No, some woman who hauls her pregnant butt across miles of scorching desert and risks the death of her infant to gain illegal entry into a country and then use our resources to have the baby and claim unlawful citizenship, is against families. Particulalry families who can’t afford medical care because the costs are inflated due to the illegals never paying their bills.

Hippy: They just want a better life for their children man!

Intelligent Person: Then they should fix their corrupt friggin system back home, not bring it with them here.

Hippy: But you can’t send the child back so the mother has to stay!

Intelligent Person: Nothing’s stopping the kid from going to Mexico. And if the mother is going to leave her child behind as a political pawn, then she doesn’t deserve to keep it. Give it to someone who will raise it to love America and speak English, not just be another Mexico first, government welfare addicted, democratic supporter who requires all forms to be printed in spanish so he can continue putting people in to power who are trying to make America as corrupt as Mexico. Now shut the hell up unless you have something intelligent to say.

    3. Make Santuary Cities pay for their criminal activites: So many ways to do this. The first and foremost is to take all Federal Funding from them. Period. Not a dime. If their going to stop police and federal officials from checkign this menace, and allwo their highways to be used to spread it, then they can fund their own damn selves.

    Hippy: But…

    Intelligent Person [breaks Hippy’s nose]

See that soution was easy! Take away any incentive and protection for illegals crossing the border and they’ll be a LOT less likely to want to spend their life savings and take a deadly trip to get here. No need to cart them off one at a time and most definately no need to reward their illegal behaviour…

  8. I know that, SarahK, but don’t you think it will be tons easier picking those individuals up if we aren’t spending a metric ass-load of money and other resources on preventing Mexico from importing its poor?

    Oh, and English only.

I worked with some Muslim guest workers for about 5 years. Out of all of them maybe one was to be respected. The rest were cheaters and liars and they were not expected to speak English. It was a good paying job, but the guest workers were treated like Royalty from another country. They come over here and take American jobs away from Americans and don’t have to pay taxes. It isn’t right, if they live in this Country, they should be made to pay taxes and speak English.

  10. Meh. I’m not gonna start disliking her over that one thing. She’s plenty strong in other conservative areas (Pro-Gun rights, Pro-life, integrity etc) that more than makes up for this particular shortcoming. I’m still voting for her.

  11. Is it possible she’s just towing the McCain position? Like carrying some Maverick amnesty water? Espousing what the man wants? Perhaps, even trading issues – like I’ll support you on amnesty if you’ll support drill here, drill now? Just speculating…

  12. In street and alley, what strange tongues are loud,
Accent of menace alien to our air,
Voices that once the Tower of Babel knew!
O Liberty, white goddess! Is it well
    To leave the gates unguarded?

    – Thomas Bailey Aldrich, The Unguarded Gates (1892)

The same law applies to the native-born and to the alien living among you.
    – Exodus 12:49
