I’ll stick with my L.C. Smith double 12-gauge (circa 1900) that belonged to my great grandfather.
In Germany, they used to (perhaps still do) use what is called a dreiling, or a vierling, with three or four barrels, sometimes three shotgun barrels, but usually a combination of shotgun and rifle barrels, because you just never know what you might run into!
well, that and it’s very hard to get permission to buy a long gun in Deutchland, so one gun has to do for many. i know a guy who collects dreilings and some of the caliber/gauge combinations are very freaky.
