I took my son out for his first pint.
Got him a Fosters…..he didn’t like it – I had it.
Then I got him Carlsberg, he didn’t like it, I had it.
It was the same with Bitter, Guinness, and Cider.
By the time we got down to the whisky, I could hardly push the bloody pram.

There’s Irish fatherhood – and then there’s Irish grandfatherhood. I’m waiting on the latter (any day now).
BTW, Harvey, it’s Earth Hour tonight at 8:30 p.m! I’ll be lighting-up the sky and simultaneously burning as much carbon as I can.
Keeper. Up there with Bob Monkhouse’s “I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.”
@1 – Well, in honor of both Earth Hour and Irish grandfatherhood, I will light a potato for you.
By the way, when the baby arrives, drop a comment. I’d like to make a fuss over it & let the Moon Nukers do likewise.
Is this your first grandchild?
@3: Yes, indeed, my first. And I’m waiting with “baited breath” as my daughter-in-law has half-Irish and half-Italian ancestry. Possible trouble with that mix!
BTW, regarding lighting potatoes: you can NUKE them, too! Potatoes are so versatile! 🙂

Due to the danger to health from secondary smoke…lighting potatoes is against the law in NY City.
Ooooohhhhh, a pram is a stroller!
Now I get it. Thanks Google!
