  1. In my lifetime what stands out is the power the ever left leaning press discovered from their actions towards the Vietnam War and especially Watergate, not as much as they want or think they have but enough to destroy themselves if not the entire country.

  2. I’ll go with Janeane and say Wilson (infinite boos!) for Progressivism and all it implies (ugh!), the income tax (infinite ughs!), and subsuming the interest of the nation to international interests — among other things. He generally disdained the Constitution as a plan of government and as a limit on it. This isn’t an interpretation — he was quite open and vocal about it.

  3. @7 jw: Right. I just couldn’t do it. Just couldn’t. Not even in the cause of parody.

(Ironically, that makes me an anti-capitalist, and JANEANE a staunch capitalist.)

We appear to be the only ones on the site today.

  4. The upper-case / lower-case duality is so repressive and hidebound. Letters should be free to self-identify as either/or — or italic, if they want to — and you should respect their choice. Keep your laws off my body text!
