Each dot depicts the location where a U.S. survey respondent situated Ukraine; the dots are colored based on how far removed they are from the actual country, with the most accurate responses in red and the least accurate ones in blue.
A lot of wrong answers, but, surprisingly, NO ONE picked Mexico or Japan.
Oh… and before you ask, I don’t know which blue dot is Joe Biden’s.

Honestly, haven’t they ever played Risk? However, I’d like to see how many Ukrainians could find Iowa on a map (for that matter, it’s probably not too easy for much of America)
Y’know, when I was a kid – like, early single digits – I had a wooden map puzzle of the United States and of The World. The names were on the little pieces (or close by where they go on the map for like your Delaware and Sierra Leone. I used to love those puzzles.
And all through school I’d rock Geography.
Guess I’m dating myself with that… schools don’t even teach Geography anymore.

Loved putting it together, but even at my young age knew they were mostly going to make their money off of people buying a second puzzle because Delaware disappeared on a road trip.
Raised my kids with those puzzles.
Speaking of “Geography,” we actually had a 5th grade Geography book! If given a chance, kids love that stuff. I sure did.
It worries me that so many respondents thought Ukraine was in Alaska or the continental USA.
Did they think we were living through a remake of Red Dawn?
