BTW, you could do an estimation based on the areas using little tiny square cookies fitted to a sheet with a quarter circle inscribed in a square. That would be a pi bakeoff, and, after you get your answer, you could eat ’em!

if you be wantin’ a pi bakeoff then i think rather than small cookies we could use apple pi and cornbread, because pi are round, cornbread are square.
@5 jw: I still have frozen apples from last summer. I’ll make the pi and you make a 9″ square cornbread. After we do our measurements, we’ll feast on pi-eces of each!

I am a consulting engineer, and I’m thrilled to hear of this innovative mathematical breakthrough.
I’m going home right now to tell my wife that I have a particularly difficult calculation to make, and will need a new 28 ga Browning Citori O/U order to insure an accurate result.
