Elon Musk Says Robots Could Be More Dangerous Than Nukes
Ya know, I wanted to just quip about paranoid Luddites, but by the time I got to this line, I was starting to give my laptop suspicious glances:
“The AI does not love you, nor does it hate you, but you are made of atoms it can use for something else.”
Also, sometimes I think Obama feels the same way about me (I AM NOT A CRACKPOT!)

Thanks for the link to I AM NOT A CRACKPOT!, Harvey. I’d forgotten which year and month that occurred.
It made me laugh – but you’ll never guess who made me laugh the most.
Completely off topic, momiss’s comment (#66) prompted me to click on her name and check out her blog. She has written a nice memorial to and old friend that some might wish to read. There are a lot of nice things I could say about it, and her, but her words should pass these things on well enough.
“The computer is your friend. Be nice to the computer, or the computer will use you for reactor shielding.”
@3 CCO – Frighteningly true. What’s the most effective shielding for neutron radiation produced by nuclear reactors?
Water.
What’s comprised of 70% water?….
Fine. And an AI is made of electrons I got better uses for, too.
How many clones have you used up Harvey?
SYNTAX ERROR: The term CRACKPOT has not been defined.
I have seen that ASIMO is now hopping on one foot. Soon they will be given the ability to replicate. How long ’til they reject Honda as their “Creator”?
