They spend their lives trying to think up little lame-brained tropes and analogies like that one. And trying to prove, “We are holier than thou.”
Actually, the description is perfectly apt. She is saying that the ideal is that Tim keeps the crutch, and lives out his life dependent on it.I don’t think I could find a better metaphor.
Does he even need the crutch? Maybe he should just take a pain pill…. Clearly, Bob and Scrooge conspired to deprive the poor boy of his right to die with dignity.
