LOL i love the happy expression on the drawings of sarahk
Second? And the expressions are quite amusing…
i don’t see a comic!
It is good to see security taking precautionary measures. I was also impressed with the one cops ability to beat lefty without putting the donut down.
Frank, I’m glad you used a technique, methods so often fail, those techniques are so money!
I loved the Hate-Filled Lefty’s surprise cameo. But what really got me laughing was the grin on the policeman with the baton. Author! Author!
Rendering a cartoon in something darker than a light blue pencil is a “technique”?
Making a pot of coffee must be an advanced process.
I guess it bothers me that Sarahk didn’t look behind her and notice the Hate-filled Lefty standing there and just take him out herself. Now that’s a cartoon I’d like to see (although this one is good too!).
Dave,
I draw it straight with a black pen (never restarting no matter the mistakes – though some are edited out in photoshop). It scans perfectly, but becomes lighter when I shrink. This time I adjusted the gamma down.
Popeye,
HFL meets SarahK and HFL meets me are going to be future comics. Already have them planned out.
I love it. The words should be darker, though. But that’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time
Man, I was scared there for a sec. I almost got to the end of the comic and I thought Frank forgot to have HFL get beat down. whew… All is well.
Okay, so what happened to the Pakistani standing behind HFL with no luggage and a one-way ticket? Did they get him one of those chauffered carts and drive him right up to the gate?
ha! I can’t believe you did that to SarahK. Man… you are so lucky she has a sense of humor! I don’t know if I would have been that nice.
Ok, turning down the gamma qualifies as a technique. I withdraw my coffee pot comment.
It is easier to read.
I never had a problem with your old technique. This new technique is more difficult to read. Sort of blurry or something…
Frank, to really make it dark try using the line art or 2-bit black & white settings on your scanner.
Frank, I totally LOVE the police with their police hats and donuts. And I love “Please take off your shoes and pointy hat before going through security.” LOL! The comics are great, is the 2nd IMAO book going to be a book of comics?
I love the evil grin on the cop’s face! Mwa ha ha ha ha!!! Yay!
i’m not as spacy as he draws me.
If’n I was you, which I’m not, I would use a felt-tip-pen or Staedtler disposable technical pen (size: 05 or 07) to draw the Hate-Filled Lefty and other comics. It works much better.
I think you should draw these with a red crayon…
I think the Happy Evil-Grinning Cop needs to become a regular re-occurring character! ;P
