Olbermann is unwatchable. Affleck Doubly so. Affleck as Olbermann is a sign of the Apocalypse. If you’ll Excuse me, I need to grab my sword and catch a flight to Megiddo.
Olby is one of a very select group of people, those who can make me truly angry just by showing their cheesy gobs on my TV. Tony Kornheiser is another one; probably not a coincidence that both of these dingleberries are in the sports media, nor is it a coincidence that both probably received many a nuclear wedgie in high school from the type of athletes they so idolize now.
Is this Olbermann on TV or something? Maybe on one of the upper channels you get with the super duper premium packages? Or maybe he’s only on back east, like in Vermont. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him, except maybe on my vacation to Vermont. I love the laugh track, it sounds so real.
They should have ended it after the Worst Person in the World bit. The stuff up to that point was hi-larious (and vintage Olbermann) but the bit on his cat and co-op was retarded and WAY too long. Hell it was longer than the mix of bits that proceeded it. Typical SNL there, though, taking a good joke and driving it into the ground…
The funny thing is that it’s so hard to apply hyperbole to someone who has made a career of over-the-top hysterics and mindless equivocations. Affleck undoubtedly watches Olby-gyn every night and appreciated the challenge as an actor to try to get that far into territory even Jim Carrey would fear to tread. The only thing it lacked is the Ted Baxter empty-suit baritone he seems to have modeled his stage persona upon.
The cat with the condo board thing is hilarious. It’s even more so recently because our townhome association witnessed a few meltdowns at the last meeting that were pretty close to this level of diatribe based on nothing.
I swear, sometimes it’s not a miracle to me that some people act this way, but that they didn’t die of drug or alcohol poisoning somewhere between Point A and Point what the hell are you talking about?
I didn’t bite!!! Nanana Na!!!! Oh… The election…McCamnesty is going to get smoked! I’m not happy about it but it’s reallity! I hate the idea of the Obamaniation! Oh Well! If you want to be RINO…dance with the Devil…
Now, fess up. Are you hittin’ the 12 year-old election eve Scotch a wee bit early? (Except it is the cocktail hour in Minneapolis, isn’t it? Never mind.)
Hilarious, but scary if KO actually approved. For satire to be effective it has to have an element of truth. Not sure how to interpret that. Does he realize how over the top he is? or does he think his behaviour on camera is normal?
That was FUNNY, only slightly
funnier than the real Krazy Olby,
but much more watchable.
The funnist thing about Olbermann is that Rachel Maddow, a gal who got her start on his show now beats Keith in the ratings while wearing only her older brother’s hand-me-down suits.
While I have never actually seen the real Olbie on TV, I did think it was funny at first, but kind of ran into “how do we fill 10 minutes with this ” toward the end. SNL’s skit a few weeks ago of NYT trying to send reporters to Alaska to investigate Sarah was better, and just as unlikely. I generally make a point of not watching them, but somehow I managed to catch these ones.
Olbermann saying he liked it is a way for him to save face — The guy’s an absolute prima donna and has talked of himself in all seriousness as being the modern day equivalent of Edward R. Murrow.
I happen to agree with most of what Olbermann says and disagree with most of what O’Reilly says. Yet, I admit Olbermann is the more offensive in his hysterical exaggerations.
SNL is as good these days as they were in their heyday back in the mid 70s, IMO.
This is freakin’ brilliant. It’s one of my favorite SNL skits now, it just destroys Olbermann so hard! Lord, he deserves it…that guy has got away with being a douchebag for far too long.
Nah, Keith knew about it. In fact, he went over to give a few pointers.
I thought it was funny myself
just more proof that olbermann is painful to watch. even a fake olbermann…

Are you going to link the SNL skit?

It’s not over until the fat lady sings.
And by that I mean Rosie O’Donnell, wailing in despair more than actual singing.

I don’t believe for a second he liked this.

Is it really okay to laugh at someone making fun of an insane person?
