  1. Maybe i am a little too conservative on this…but i like to think that i want to conserve all that is good and beautifull in this country. I beleive that homosexuality is a social dissorder and that it never should have been taken out of the DSM4. I love life and i will defend the holy image that is a man and a woman loving each other for ever and from that love helping god to create life and teaching my children what is right in a REAL family environment. I do think that this opens up a real social pandoras box of behavior. Ever watch a gay march. they always cut off coverage from the end of it, cuz at the end come the beastiality groups and NAMBLA and other perversions. They are all just degrees of deviance and i refuse to give them special rights. I know some gay people, and i don’t hate them just for that fact. But i am against giving them special rights and dignifying their perversion just like i am against JOOOOO!!! killing as a form of religious expression or the killing of partially developed life cuz the bimbo who got herself knocked up doesn’t want to live with the consequenses. If you beleive in god, you can’t let people pervert the beautiful things he has made, and you must fight the “narmalizing” of it. The false stats of 10 percent of people are gay is BS. It’s just a tactic of satan to give that much doubt of a young person and get them to questions just once…”could i be gay?” No! Because nobody is! we just get corrupted in this world by debates like this………well i think i got a little nuts on that one…….but its all still true.

  2. I’m against giving gays “special rights” too. So the day they start asking for tax exemption or free chocolate bars I’ll have a problem with it. But marriage isn’t a special right, it’s a rather common one … every heterosexual in America over 15 already possesses it. Gays are asking for equal rights, and I find it hard to argue with that.
Hell, I even think that folks should be allowed to believe in wacky stuff like divinely-inspired con artists who reveal the word of God on golden plates. Call me open-minded.
    S

  3. Hey!!! Marrying someone of the same sex is a special right!!! I’m straight and I am held to the same standard…I can’t marry a guy! Everything else that the gay community wants to be married for can be handled by giving their “partner” power of atourney and a couple of other perfectly legal means. Making “Marriage” legal is an atack on marriage and nothing else. I do not attack their choices but i do attack their desire to make my sons world one that makes the profain and perverted the mandatorily accepted.
    Adam

  4. I was going to make a comment about me not being offended by that and still being an angrey Republican on thier comments page, but as I scrolled down, about every other line had some Bush hatred in it. Them loonies really do have a one track mind don’t they 🙁

  5. That headbutt was followed by a face rake and pile driver for a pin and three count…Granny #2, The Marauding Wrinkle, is now WWE’s riegning world champion, and she will be defending her title against The Rock in a televised pay-per view event following the Daytona 500.

  6. Nah, I’m pretty sure you’re wrong on this one Adam, and that the arguements you outline above are just rationalizations for bigotry. You certainly have the right to adhere to your morals – and enforce them upon your children until they’re 18 – but you have no right to expect other people adhere to those same morals. More than anything else, though, I just think it’s weird and creepy for one adult to be so concerned about what other adults do in their private lives. “Mind your own business” is a good and simple rule to follow.
Anyway, I’m not going to debate this point here at IMAO. As I’m neither gay nor married, this is not a ditch I feel the need to die in. You’re welcome to have the last word.
    S

  7. The thing that makes marriage special is that it was created by God. One of the main reasons God created it was for the continuation of the human race (hence the need for a man and a WOMAN). God also makes many mentions to homosexuality not being a good thing (to put it lightly) in the Bible. Gays may call it “marriage”, but it isn’t marriage and never will be because the Definer of marriage doesn’t recognize it as such. BUT, if you take God out of the mix you can do whatever you want.

  8. Yes, like the rest of you sane people out there, I agree with Adam. Like he mentioned in his previous post, homosexuality brings with it many other deviancies. Such as beastiality. I mean, Disney has already made a movie condoning that sort of thing, love between a woman and a beast. I mean, c’mon people, that’s just wrong. Like Adam said, all the amazing benefits of marriage can be had by power of attorney, etc… Geys are always lobbying for equal rights, when in fact, they just want special rights for them. There are no laws that discriminate against gays. There are people that discriminate against fags, I’m sorry, gays, but there’s not a whole lot congress can do against that, now is there? Fags, I’m sorry, gays can do anything straight people can do. I just wish they would do it normally wihtout wearing their gayness like some kind of sign. I can understand handicapped people needing special accomodations because of limitations they have, but those who have CHOSEN to be gay can go about their lives just like everyone else, leaving their personal matter where they belong, IN THEIR OWN PERSONAL TIME AND PLACE, not in public, etc… If you have CHOSEN to be gay, whoopdy f***in do, do it on your own time, and don’t bring it up in public. If no one knows you are gay, they won’t discriminate against you, now will they? You don’t have to be open and proud of it. Be glad we aren’t burning you at the stake like we used to! Count your blessing by fudge-packing (Or rug-munching) friend! Count them and shut up!
    -Brian

  9. I meant to say “Count your blessings MY fudge-packing (or rug-minching) friend. Count them and shut up.”
I did not mean to use the word “by”, as that would be me telling them to pack ze fudge or munch ze rug, which I would never do. packing ze fudge and munching ze rug are wrong, unless ze rug is being munched by ze homme, if he digs zat sort of thing.
    -Brian

  10. I apreciate having the last word. thanks brian. In all seriousness, i don’t care what people do on their own in private…REALLY!! I don’t care if someone who is gay or any other sinner wants to solidify that sin with a union to it (IE: civil unions, or power of attourney). But, think about the future and what this will really mean. It means more people being taken into it because of the mandatory acceptance of it and the reducing of the word “marriage” to “just two people who like to have sex together exclusively.” I know that is not what “marriage” is. It is the right of me and my wife to be recognized by god and the world as two people (man and woman) to bring life to this world in gods own ordained way. Lets keep it that way.

  11. Well, 2 things to say on this:
    1. At least there was no tongue involved in this picture. I like lesbians as much as the next guy, but this case is an exception to the rule (shudder)
    2. I was just reading what Travis said. Thanks dude, you made me throw up in my coffee cup.

  12. I tolerate gayness but do not agree with marriage of gays.
Tolerance is not a disease that leads to bigotry.
The liberal ideal is based on moral relativism. Relative truth. The big donkey BUTT is everybody cannot be correct. By definition truth has an opposite. No amount of name calling, stomping your feet, granny marriages, gay is ok books pointed at our babies, sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling la la la “LIBERAL” is going to change the definition of right and wrong.

  13. I’m with you Adam. Some things need to stay in the closet.
The “Leave it to Beaver” show I grew up on portayed a model American Family unit. If the show was remade today, the title would likely remain the same, but the family would be waayy different.
It seems that minority opinions and voices are being heard over the true majority.
Who cares what the majority want when all it takes is one mayor to go against state law and make the call to allow same sex marriage licences.
Sure, the licences are not “legitimate”, but now we have to “delegitimize” something that was not legitimate in the first place!

  14. Right! Right is right…Left is wrong!
I beleive you when you say that tolerance does not lead to Bigotry, but is does lead to apathy and the destruction of values. Bigotry creates hatred and violence. I would like to think that my view of conservativism is the happy medium. Not name-calling but not allowing changes that you know to be wrong to take place. Is my view of conservativism accurate?
    Adam

  15. sorry frank. you posted your last word while i was posting mine and arived after yours…………so i would like to start a new tradition on IMAO. The tradition of vieing for last instead of first. So …thus i declare it. No more posts after this one
    LAST!!!!!!!

  16. I would like to remark on what Gibson said, especially his use of the word “tolerance”. Like the good republican I am, I have a love for the satirical show called “South Park”. if anyone is familiar with the show, they have seen the episode named “The Death Camp of Tolerance”. This is one of the single greatest demonstrations of how the erst of us feel when being faced with angry minorities demanding tolerance or equal rights. In this episode, the leader at this tolerance camp says the infamous line “This intolerance will not be tolerated”. How can someone who has CHOSEN to be gay go into the streets demanding to be accepted by society, while at the same time condemning those who don’t agree with them? If someone has the right to be gay, I have the right to hate homosexuality, dammit! If you want me to tolerate your decision, you must tolerate mine equally! In the moral lesson at the end of the show, I believe it is Stan that clarifies what “tolerance” really means. he says that tolerance is not to agree with something or support it, you tolerate something like a crying baby or a barking dog. You don’t have to like the thing you are tolerating. So all you fags out there go ahead an be faggy, just don’t complain when I exercise my right to protest and dislike as much as you exercise your right to pack fudge or munch rugs. If you want to be in an equal society, then you better get used to the idea of people not liking you all the time, and saying it! Everyone out there has people that don’t like them. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE ANY DIFFERENT.

  17. Any time. With me there is always a deliberately off the deep end rant followed by a refinement of more rational thought. But i beleive the essence of the arguements is the same…the first was just more fun to say.
    By the way…..LAST!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Hell, I’m all for it. If you’re not gay and don’t wanna get married, don’t. If you’re offended by it, big f***in’ deal- everybody gets offended sometimes. Welcome to this little peach we call “life.” I’m not so stupid that I can’t turn my head at something I don’t wanna see. It’s not gonna kill me. Granted, I don’t wanna see those 2 women in the picture doing their business on the street, but I don’t wanna see ANYBODY doing their business on the street. (Extremely hot people not withstanding. Heh. Kidding.)
When I think about it.. they should be allowed to “marry” if that’s what this country is gonna call it when you commit yourself to someone completely and receive the benefits in insurance, taxes, etc. You may think homosexuality is wrong – but their point is this, and rightfully so: If you’ve spent your entire life with someone and build your home with that person.. when you die, they need to be taken care of. Some people may see it as wrong, but if there’s love there and those 2 people have been taking care of each other, they need the same benefits that would come when a member of a heterosexual couple dies… minus the whole “and God is looking down on you smiling and blahblahblah” business.
Besides, isn’t the term “marriage” as defined as the union of a “man and woman” a religious thing anyway? Why the f*** is it a governmental issue? The Feds need to destroy the term “marriage.” Then, everyone is UNITED with their romantic choice legally and “married” by the church if their religious institution approves and they so choose.

  19. last?Always right. Exactly. Moral relativism can be the HEMLOCK of civilization…Socrates was speaking against the very issue…Funny how 911 seemed to shake everyone out of it for a second. If there is no right and wrong then all who died were sent back to the primordial sludge they came from and the people who died trying to save the victims were fools to be pitied. Not so I say. Even Jefferson agreed that the judeo christian moral code was the greatest gift to us…Gay away I say…but leave the tradition of marriage alone.

  20. sarah you potty mouth. My tax money is not for funding the alternative lifestyle. That is the majority report and even though the philibustering Dems may be having a temporary victory the majority rules in this country. Watch and see…majority rules. On a side note I am going to take a wild guess and say you don’t have kids.

  21. Thanx gibsonriz. Good point. i can’t wait to see what the majority has to say. Hopefully people will all read the illustrious and nationally important readers comments of IMAO and see the light. Thus we should do our best to help all people visit this site and thus make frank J. rich and famous. then he could run for president…..president of what?…I don’t know but i would vote for him.
    Adam
    BTW…………LAST!!!!!!!!!!

  22. What has caused this unnatural behavior that is called homosexuality? Is it genetic or is it a behavioral problem? I’m all for helping the gays. We need to find a cure. If its genetic, it will require billions for research. If its behavioral, then some drugs and therapy ought to do the trick. We could wear little rainbow ribbons and have celebrity benefits, and a walkathon, “Race for a Cure”

  23. My tax money is not for funding any one of your marriages, those of you who are married. Or whatever you call those semi-permanent slugfests you dignify with a divorce more than half the time.
I’ve been with my guy (we are straight) for more than six years and I bet we’ve outlasted the majority of your marriages. However many you’ve had by now.

  24. It was said that in the armies of Alexander the Great, most soldiers were all gays, because when one died during a combat, it raised the combativity of the others.
One can marry and not call it marriage.
    Obviously.
Anyway, marriage should only be between a man and a woman, also if the laws could adapt the situation of life of the gays. We cannot call it marriage. Marriage relates to the religion, at least a certain kind of belief. One can engage himself with someone without being married. What is fair is that the laws are be made to the situation.
Speaking of movies, have you seen “The come back of the blond” at the cinema ?

  25. I have that answer. Up till recently homosexuality was understood correctly to be a psychosexual dissorder. Behavioral treatments were effective, well published, and used often. Less than ten years ago due to political pressure this was changed and it was outlawed to practice the time tested and well documented treatment options. Today if a gay person realizing they have a problem comes to a mental health professional and pleads for the treatment, the doctor will have his liscence taken away for even agreeing that homosexuality is a dissorder and prosecuted criminally if he gives the treatment and is found out. As a 4rth year psychology student, this pisses me off and thus i will take my psych degree, use it to be a cop…..
    oh yeah…and
    LAST!!!!!!!!!

  26. Sarah, I’m gonna have to say you are full of it. You are right to some degree. When we see something that offends us that IS NOT MORALLY WRONG, we should turn our heads. It’s not our business, and that’s that. But would you say that a man has the right to rape a young chile, simply because it is done in the privacy of his own home? No. You wouldn’t turn your head to that. And if you did, I would demand to know your address so I could visit and “remedy” the problem, the problem being your life.
When it crosses the line from your business to everyone’s business is when you do something fundamentally wrong and immoral. Where the true root of the disagreement in all this lies is in what people find fundamentally wrong and immoral. For instance, I find homosexuality fundmanetally wrong, immoral, and downright ICKY. I also find defamation of the institution of marriage to be fundamentally wrong. So fags and lesbos getting married is a double whammy to me. If I didn’t actively fight against what I believed to be fundamentally and morally wrong, that would make me a hypocrite, now wouldn’t it? is there anyone out there who likes people who just sit back and watch what they care about get stomped? Even hippies don’t do that, they just have a completely screwed up system of belief in what is important, which they should all be killed for, mind you. (Sorry, hippy tangent)
    -Brian

  27. Well, considering the overwhelming evidence that a gay lifestyle greatly contributes to health care problems and costs, I’d think it could be politicaly expedient (but not correct) to advocate a cure.

  28. Woah! I had a good typo! I meant to say “a man rapes a young child”. Raping a chile would bring on a whole new term “vegetabality”. And not to mention it would burn to high heaven! I guess that depends on the chile, though, you know? I’m gonna stop thinking about this one.
    -Brian

  29. I’m all for the right of gay people to get married. In fact, they already have this right. Why, any gay man can walk into a county registrar’s office this very day, present the required documentation, pay the fee, and get a license to marry the woman of his choice, which will give him all the tax breaks he can stand. His only problem is finding a woman who will marry him. If he can’t, it’s not the government’s fault, nor is it the fault of the “straight” community, “homophobia”, “bigotry” or any other cause other than his own tastes and/or behavior.
What? Oh, this is about gay people wanting to marry EACH OTHER? Well, that’s a whole other issue.

  30. Rocky – I think I pissed myself reading yours. let me check….. Yep, I pissed myself. Hilarious!
    Freetobeme-
I agree with you totally! I feel that a good way to determine if somethign is right or wrong is to imagine what the world would be like if everyone did whatever it is that is underdebate. What if everyone were nice, carried guns for self protection, and had loving families? the world would be great! What if everyone murdered? Civilization would come to an end. You see?
Now let’s think about homosexuality. What if from this point on, everyone were gay. Straight up, none of this “I’m bi because I can’t make up my mind and want more options” CRAP. What would happen? The human race would be wiped off the earth in less than 100 years. I doubt war could do it that quickly. No heterosexual relationships, no babies. EVERYONE WOULD BE DEAD IN LESS THAN 100 years. I think that tells us something evry important, don;t you?

  31. Just kinda surprised this has caused so much debate, when we’re all so cool and twenty-first century and everything.
And hey, I’m not gay (not good looking enough for a start), but could the guy who brought chile-raping into it try breathing less nitrous oxide, cos I’m gittin’ scared.

  32. Whatever it is, behavioral or genetic, it is an aberation of nature. If you happen to believe the unproven theory of evolution, as I’m sure most on the left do, then because homosexuality cannot help the propogation of the species it will eventually be “naturaly selected” out of nature. I hope it happens soon, I can’t take another homo sitcom.

  33. Hey, I just wanted to point to a picture of too old lesbians smacking their heads together; I didn’t want this break down into a bunch of gay bashing. Now, I’m as homophobic as the next guy (actually, wouldn’t that word mean I’m afraid of identical twins?), but this is getting a little uncivil.
Now let’s all just settle down and agree that, in the picture I linked to, it really looks like those two people ran into each other.

  34. My favorite restaurant in Paris is a gay restaurant, “Le chant des voyelles”. They are all f***ing gays. I been there once with my parents, and now, I always bring my parents there. Once, the waitress said to my father “hey Chéri, what you’re eating”. That was very funny. It’s funny also when the waitress says “oh God, have you seen that guy, I would die for one of those muscles”.
Gays are the bests friends of women usually, and I think that they have their part in the society. The first time I went to a party out, there was a guy in love with me, but he was oppressive. I had a gay friend who loved to eat nitwits with chocolate. I think that without that gay, the other guy would have tried to abuse of me. At least to disturb my first party. Everyone has a place in the society, and some people are really born gay. Also they would try to be normal, they keep to be gay always. I had a friend at school who was a gay, and never denied it. Everyone new he was a gay, but once, he experienced a relation with a woman. She became pregnant and he renounced to be a gay for his daughter until she becomes enough adult to understand and agree with the choice of her father. As any kind of society, there are bad and good people, but those who are not conventional are not those who are the worst. When I was still a young girl, I met with a punk girl who was few years older than me. There had student demonstrations, and we spent days and hours speaking. She was a stylist, creating dresses. She showed me that a dress is only the exterior of the person, but what is important, is what the person got inside. She had a boyfriend and was fidele to him as much as he was fidele to her. They were a perfect couple, strange, but strong. Sometimes, those kind of examples bring more choices in life than a false normality. Some people marry, have violence, become rude, sometimes obscene and are not really a good example, also if they seem normal. A child, by nature, is innocent about all that, but what important is the reason why the people become what they are.
The fact is that young people need to protect themselves with words, cloth, attitudes that are not those of adults, and if the gays are able to be mature enough to not try to enroll, I don’t have anything about the fact that people are gay. Gays are funny, and when feeling sadness, there is not better place and secured than a gay restaurant.
But marriage is something precious. There is undoubtedly the meaning of giving the life, making the sacrifice to always cherish the love one, and in the good as much as the worst moment of the life, which ever they are. The laws, except those of the religion should not interfere with this, but should adapt the possibility for gays to get a status that link them to their partner. It is a right of equity, and I don’t think that the gays should be tormented about that for them being cured or what should ever.
It is difficult sometimes for men and women to live together. The marriage is a consecration of the part of the tolerence, of the religion that enter the house to be able, anyway, to be in the society. To be the society at both the opposite sides of its diversity between men and women.

  35. Since I’m extremely lazy and did not read through all of the comments, I apologize if this is a repeat.
If people are in fact gay, I’m fine with that. I have a few gay friends and they’re great people. However, there are a few things I don’t like about gays:
1)(MEN) Blatantly acting gay (lisp, stereotypical gay voice, wearing women’s clothes, etc.)
2)(WOMEN) Reverse of #1, which boils down to being a bull-dyke.
3)(MEN+WOMEN) Pushing your views on someone else as if that is the only way to live. To me, being homosexual is your choice, and you shouldn’t force others to think the way you do.
If you are gay, you don’t need to act the part. If you want people to know you are gay, tell them. Nobody wants to see an overly effeminite man perusing through the women’s section in H+M. It’s socially embarassing.
Now I know most of you must be thinking: “Well you said you have gay friends.” I do, but they all live normal lives and don’t interfere on others with their lifestyles. To me, they are good people.
As for some of the comments I’ve read already regarding the fact that gays want ‘equal rights,’ but in actuality want special rights…I agree. The problem as a whole goes beyond gays to minorities as a whole. Everyone wants to be ‘equal’, and then they ask for laws (such as affirmitave action) which causes even more problems. At this point in our society, laws like that should not even be warranted anymore. We have come along way (except for the South) with racism and gay awareness, and I don’t think it affects us all as those minorities say it does. PCism has, of course, made this all much worse…but that’s an entirely different story already. But when it gets to a point where a white woman sues a black guy for saying ‘niggardly’, then we know that we need to make some changes (basically by killing hippies and liberals).
As for gay marraige, I don’t think it’s a good idea. The tax situation with it alone is enough to keep it from happening. And what happens if they have a kid and end up divorcing? It just doesn’t work for me, and I don’t think it will work for the US either.

  36. Monster Kabasu, I am not a gay neither a lesbian. I am just reminding of this gay bar song.
Personally, I am in favor of everything for my security, also if I love having fun. I like Brazilian parties, and I like to not be bothered because I am a woman when some are men. I particularly don’t like to feel oppressed and I believe that the freedom of the man may apply also to the women. I have seen my first men strip tease, American men, in Euro Disney and it was kinda fantastic because it was funny.
There is nothing worst than people who pretend to be clean but under their hat have plenty of f***ing dirt. While student, you see many of those. We call them “Bon Chic Bon Genre”. BCBG. All well dressed, polite, and faithful, but all experimenting everything about sex, exchanges, and worst. Between the fun and between the act, there is a very large difference, and someone can have fun, be “documented” as I like to say, but still have a part of ignorance. Nowadays society condemns the ignorant which bring to the result of very much disorder. Porn, to name it.
I have had the extraordinary chance to have grow up in a military zone. My friends had limits on every level of their life, but they knew how to have fun without any disorder. Kind an instruction that was more clean and moral than any woman’s advise.
Maybe I like gays because I have always though that my friends were all gays. I don’t feel any disturbance about that. Some women disgust me more than some “men”. It’s all a question of value, and it is all a question of the education that is given to the child.

  37. Ahh… so you’re going to bash me for not being part of the “religious right” ?? The outrageous “morally superior” right is what makes all republicans/conservatives look bad and irrational. I’m not a homophobe at all. Live and let live – they aren’t hurting me or my family. In fact, if you let them unite, there’s the possibility that there will be LESS publicity. Fewer protest-style marches.
Some of your comments towards my response were very, very rude. You automatically assume that everyone who is right of center is a white, heterosexual, Christian. It’s not a fair assumption. I can tolerate without accepting.
And Brian – I think there is a BIG DIFFERENCE in homosexuality and a “man raping a young child.” It’s called CONSENT and being an ADULT. You can throw the “but it’s still immoral” thing about all you want, but you’ll be in jail a LOT LONGER and for BETTER REASONS for raping a minor than consensually committing sodomy with another adult.
Anyone who would get as pissed about someone raping a child as they would for 2 gay men having sex is seriously whacked.

  38. Amphitryon…Where are you from? learn english!! Aside from that, I would like to apologize for the perversion of the comment roll today. i took it where frank J didn’t want it. I have defied the coolest of the cool. Hari kiri here i come…. He is right. It does look like a bonking heads picure and let us all revere it as such. oh yeah…
    LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. I don’t know whats worse the picture or the comments under it.
“Younger voters are totally for gay marriage, so this will help ensure the rise of the Emerging Democratic Majority, as the GOP is forever (or for a long time, anyway) saddled with representing the dwindling portion of America,…”
I am a younger voter am I totally “For” gay marriage?
And where the hell is this “Emerging Democratic Majority?
As for the dwindling portion of America, the last poll I saw put the No vote on Gay Marriage at a 2:1 romp over the Yea’s.
Funny how so many cannot tell the difference between tolerance and endorsement. People are more than happy to tolerate a lot of things, but when they get their noses shoved in it and are asked to endorse it the tendency that I see is an act of resentment .
Why oh why has this even become an issue? I mean what is the % of gays in the US? Are the albinos going to start an uproar over the lack of free sunblock?

  40. Sarah,
You’ll notice, if you read carefully, that I have said very openly that I am against homosexuality, but I would do nothing politically or legally to stop it. I have never put homosexuality in the sam eboat as child-rape. What I did bring underscrutiny was the very point of this comment section, marriage for fags. No, I do not believe that marriage for fags is nearly as bad as child-rape. I never put them on a equal basis. I just used it to demonstrate the natural human reaction to fight that which we find morally wrong to a sufficient extent to pursue legal action. I think you’ll notice that I said, “No. You wouldn’t turn your head to that. And if you did, I would demand to know your address so I could visit and ‘remedy’ the problem, the problem being your life.”
So, basically, your attack on me was completely unfounded. That’s what you get for wasting your time reading what I said when you’re just going to listen to yourself and get out of it what you want to anyway.
We don’t need to pursue legal action against fag-weddings, because they are illegal right now. Even the ones performed by Mayor Whacko, because he can not supercede the state laws, no matter how spiffy he may think he is. I’m saying we should do nothing. I’m saying things should stay how they are. I think that all this sudden insistance on “seperation of church and state” is going to the point where people want to remove religion entirely from everywhere but the inner-reaches of our unconscious psyche, where no one else has to know about it. My belief that fags shouldn’t marry is very religiously based. Guess what? This country is very religiously based too. SURPRISE! The more we slip away from our Christian heritage in ths country, the more we are going to screw ourselves up the butt. Hey that really goes along with this comment string, huh?
    -Brian

  41. Nowadays, children are completely not considered as person who have a sex. They are children and should be all the same. The difference is in being an adult in opposition with being a children, but the disorder results in the fact that it does not prevent the children against the adult who does not see the children as a children.
In the hospitals for examples, nowadays, men doctors care for girl children considering that they are adult/children, doctor/patient as if the child could reason as an adult, with the moral consequences of the evolution of the medicine as a woman with her man-doctor. Sometimes I feel that those disorders are more dangerous than the reality of the homosexuality of some people, because it affects without be known, and without being denounced.
When I was still a little girl, a man doctor had to call a woman nurse to apply the medicine on a children, and there was a very serious attention given to the fact that a man adult, also a doctor, could not have contact with little girls children, not even to see them nude. Same with female doctors and guy children, there are limits that are of parenthood. In the mind of a child, adults are supposed to be parents.
Nowadays those distinctions do not exist and are not explained to the children. When a difference is made between man and woman, when it is explained to the children how the all society is organized, in the family and outside, I think that there are less risks of disorder inside the family and outside. When a young person decides to become a gay, he had time to long study the difference between homo and heterosexuality, and the fact is that the most important is for the person to understand why he is or not a gay, not to cure it. To be able to assume a feeling, then a choice and face this choice in the everyday life make better adults than the fact to authorize or ban a situation. What the society must work on is for the people to become better, responsible, and moral, but the homosexuality does not mean to not be moral, only to be different.
We speak about the homosexuality, but choice is not given to a parent who does not want that her child be naked from a doctor. How to explain to the doctor that the parent feels disturbed about that, and how to explain the children that the parent, in some ways, disagrees with the doctor. When the laws make the proper limit of the people, what is important is that adults know to be adults, and children are let to be children.

  42. Just to give a little update to any who are interested, since the mayor has violated a standing law and authorized “Gay Marriage” with this display more than 300 applicantshave filed with the city for same sex marriage licenses.
    Prepare for more disturbing pictorials.

  43. Brian – It’s not meant as an attack. For the most part, I agree with you.
I don’t think that the removal of religion from everything is the answer. I think the ACLU battling the commandments in the courthouse is a major waste of taxpayer dollars and a ridiculous clot in the court system. I’m still advocating “if you don’t like it, don’t read it” (or don’t look.) Everyone spends so much time being offended by this, that, and the other.. it’s ridiculous.
I just think there needs to be some consistency. If some courts are saying we can’t say “under god” even in the pledge, why is it ok to be married “under god” etc. There’s just no consistency, that’s all. That’s why I say the gov’t should reject all marriages – even heterosexual ones – and go with unities. Then, marriages are performed by the church. Is it getting away from the foundation of our national heritage? Maybe a bit. (But that’s another story that I don’t need to hear about.. I live where that “recognizing god as the foundation of our national heritage” resolution originated. In the heart of the Bible belt.. the granddaughter of a southern baptist minister. So, yeah.)
But if the US is going to do a separation of church and state, they need to separate it totally and not just for some people.

  44. Jim, I never pretended that a little boy would have to learn peeing alone. Parents are made of a man and a woman, aren’t they ?
Here is an other disorder of the “normality”, when parents divorce. There are things that a father teaches to his son, and things that a mother teaches to her daughter.
The example about the hospital I gave is when doctors don’t bother if children are boys or girls, and if nurses are men or women.
What I mean is that when children are taught to make the difference they are better aware of the normality. Before being a gay, a gay usually feels being a woman, or not really a man. Before the sexual attraction that happens while being an adult, the child does not have sexual feelings, but he identifies himself as being a boy or a girl.
Homosexuality does only concern adults. Previous to this there are all the stages of the education and the identity of the children.
I have learnt two years of the psychology of the child at school. It was an option, so we were only few. Our teacher was a psychoanalyst, and we used to work on the drawings of the children, how the children did speak and express through the language of the lines and the colors. Our teacher used to say that most case he had seen, the parents were as much sick than the children, and that unfortunately, to cure the children, the hard task was to cure the parents.
Some children might never become homosexual, but they better develop their personality opposite to their own sex because they need to oppose a parent, or be like a parent. Many homosexual really love their mother, they are fond of them at a point that they feel that not breaking this relation finds an issue in being homosexual. Some other children are completely opposed to their father, and in any case, education has a large part of play in the development of the personality.
So a father who teaches his son to pee standing on his feet, considering his son as a children, is supposed to be a good father. The children have taboos, but they don’t know to express them. They have their own pudeur, their chastity as much as some parents should have, especially father and son. Some guys become fags because of the rivalry they feel imposed by their father, which would have not happen with must reserves between the “being naked” and peeing.
It’s all about sex in fact, more than about the laws. I mean, a legal code in the line of the buttocks cannot prevent of anything.
You see Frank the danger of riding a line. Both sides might have their own opinion.

  45. Just my two cents, Frank…
I’m gay and Catholic…no easy combination to pull off, but essentially I was born into both, and not able or willing to give up either.
I’m not currently in a relationship, but if I found someone that meant enough to me to spend the rest of my life with, I would do that.
It would be far better than slutting around, going to bars, participating in serial monogamy and all other sorts of things that some gay men do because they can’t get over the enormous societal disapproval of what would otherwise be a healthy, responsible way of life (by that I mean committed monogamous lifelong relationships).
Many gay people are taught they can’t be moral, so they don’t try. And then they are blamed as immoral for being what they are with no societally approved way to settle down.
That may not go over well with the Pope, Republicans, my priest, or possibly even my parents. But it’s the best I can do.
The reason gays want to get married is because they want to live in committed responsible relationships. Aside from the revulsion that straight people (mostly men…) have about their bedroom activities, I don’t see how people see gay relationships, blessed by government and/or church, are a threat to them.

That gays want to get married, or at least form permanent bonds, is a tribute what it means to be married.

Love the blog…I read you almost daily.

  46. Holy cow, I left this thread alone this morning, figuring it would be “too hot” to want to start something… Now, a few hours later, it’s like the gates of Hell have opened up and enveloped a corner of IMAO! I’m glad I didn’t shout ‘First’ on this one!
One thing that I notice that is being overlooked or left out of the debate is probably going to be realized after-the-fact as possibly the most important one. Fundamentally, this gay-marriage issue isn’t about acceptance, or tax benefits or right-wing bigotry. There is an agenda here folks (I used to have to listen to it ad nauseum from a ‘militant’ homosexual that I used to work with): Adoption. The right to adopt children “on equal footing with straight couples” and influence the way those children are brought up is a serious element of this movement, but one that is not forefront on the publicity scale because of the naturally negative reactions caused by NAMBLA and the Boy Scouts related issues. Let us not forget, the right to adopt and raise “other people’s kids” is automatically included in the benefits of legal marriage.
I’m not trying to pipe some wild-eyed conspiracy factor here… This is an actual “big ticket” issue that this guy claimed to be working on with whatever gay rights organization to which he belonged. He stated that every time they tried to approach adoption rights directly, they were met with such opposition that it was obvious there was no way they could succeed, but to table the gay-marriage issue would be the “ultimate route.” These militant rants took place in ’93-’94, and until recently, I never gave them another thought – I just figured him for a kook.
As for homosexuals in general, I don’t want it in my life (i.e., is that guy looking at my ass?), and I honestly would be devastated if my children came to me and said they felt they were ‘gay’ and wanted to hook-up with another guy/girl. Call me old-fashioned, but I really do want them to have children who put them through as much hell as they do me.
I have absolutely no problem with people who keep their sex-lives in their bedrooms. However, I admit I honestly wanted to punch my gay co-worker on more than one occasion as he would describe “amateur night” at his bar/hangout and the “ego-rush” he got “wearing nothing but body oil and a g-string and people were throwing money.” I nearly threw my lunch. The more upset I seemed, the more I think he enjoyed telling me about his lifestyle antics. However, we had a “tolerance” policy on the books at that company – if I were to say anything negatively, my job was at stake. Nowadays, with “hate-crime” laws, if I punch a guy for being a trash-talking asshole, it’s cool. But if I punch the same trash-talking asshole and he happens to be gay, I’m in a world of hate-crime legal doodoo.
One thing that strikes me as interesting – when a gay or otherwise “progressive-thinking” person shouts their gay “values” in my face, I’m evidently supposed to eagerly acknowledge them and say “right on, give me some tongue!” or I’m a bigot. If I merely express my values as a Christian, I’m a bigot. What to do? [/shrug]

  47. Yes I admit, I didn’t read every comment on here (only the first third or so) so I may be repeating someone… forgive me.
As far as gay marriage goes, well I think beliefs on that are personal things… however objectively speaking I think that the whole issue is the fact the government is getting involved in it. I mean, whether it’s right or wrong, do we need the national government making that decision for us? Since when can’t we decide for ourselves? Maybe there will be some people/groups/states even that decide it’s not right, and others that decide it is; but why should one central group decide the “right” way to live for everyone in the nation?
    And that’s my spiel.

  48. “Everyone has a place in the society, and some people are really born gay.”
Now that is just silly Amphitryon– I have two questions for you. Where is the ‘smoking gun’? And– if you believe that there are queers born, well, ‘queer’ do you also believe that gender roles are predetermined at birth?

  49. Thoughts are not Lesbians, there two unfortunate old women who accidentally super glued them selves together by the forehead. See if you look closely in the back the heavily crying woman is worried she might hurt one of them when she crowbars them apart.
Sorry, the post was getting excelling un-frank-funny, I have to try something to bring back on topic 🙂

  50. Well, that’s just frickin’ great.
I’ve been spending the last three weeks explaining to people that the reason why we gays are generally so reviled is that we don’t seem to understand conservatives’ real objection to gay marriage, which is that it cheapens the idea of marriage, which I can understand and sympathize with. And I’ve been waving a flag around of “Hey, not all of us are the shriekers you see on floats on Market street”, all in the fervent hope that far more conservatives were willing to give gays civil unions and such at the very least, and would back off on things like the FMA if we only can slow down the frantic pace of judicial fiat-imposed activist law.
Comment threads at conservative blogs like Andrew Sullivan’s and Dean Esmay’s supported this idea. Even Emperor Misha I’s commenters reinforced it.
But what the hell is this crap? Frank? Is this really your clientele?
I’ve been thumping my chest for many months now in a show of conservative solidarity, in the hope that my being gay could yet be somehow consistent with being an anti-Idiotarian.
So, what– have I been wrong this whole time? Do I have to go back to the way I looked at conservatives back when I was in high school?
I’d hate to think everything I’ve learned about America this past two years is wrong.
If this really is what Republicans are like, I’ve got some liberal friends I need to apologize to.

  51. How do we know for sure both of those people are even women? One looks a lot like Truman Capote! Those two sentences aren’t related, BTW.
Adam, Brian, others, get a grip. Let God sort it out. “Judge not, lest ye be judged” and all. Nobody is asking any Church to recognize gay marriage, they want LEGAL standing, and this is not a theocracy (Thank God!). And Adam, swearing devotion to God’s law, then using God’s name as an expetive seems a trifle … oh, I don’t know, you tell me!
Be gay all you want, just don’t expect me to be.
    Special Ed

  52. FUN
Have you ever marry a woman who was speaking like a gay.
“- Tcheri, wa-ire hove yo put miay tooth bruush ?
    – In the bath room my dear. I needed to clean the bassin.
    – Oh, Titi, you’rrrrrrr incorrrrrigible. How then will I brouch my teeth ?
    – Hum, don’t take my tooth brush ! I am going to buy you a new one”
    – Oh deary, but I always have a tooth brush in reserve…
    – Yes dear, but I have forgotten the roses.
    – Titi, you are a man.
    – Yes my dear.”

  53. The problem with the churches is this, if gay marriage is legalized, than it would be possible for a homosexual couple to sue a church after the pastor told them he wouldn’t marry them. (has happened before with heterosexuals)
My take is this… I don’t hate gays. Really. I think it’s silly that I feel like I need to add this disclaimer, but considering the knee jerk reaction of most liberals who like to shout “homophobe!” whenever someone presents a negative view of homosexuality. So I feel like I need to say that up front, even here in Frank-Land. I don’t hate gays, I’m not grossed out by them or worried about gay – cooties or whatever. I have family members who are gay, a close friend who struggles with it, and another who has been gay for a very long time. (and miserable about it to boot. But that’s another bunny trail) I love them with all of my heart and they know that.
With that said, gay marriage can not and should not be made legal. Morally, I don’t think that civil-unions should be legal either, but I see no legal reason why they shouldn’t.
Anyway. The proponents to gay marriage say it should be legal nation-wide because “we shouldn’t judge a person based on their sexual desires/ tendancies, etc.” Ok, fine… what about NAMBLA? That argument right there is exactly the argument they put forth. And what about bestiality? I’m NOT equating homosexuality with either of these acts, please don’t miss understand me. What I am saying is that if you say that one form of sexual deviancy is ok because you can’t control what people desire in a mate, than you can’t put moral constraints on any other kind of sexual deviancy. After all, people who have sex with animals and children could use the same arguments. And if we legally say that those arguments have merrit, than we are opening ourselves up to a society where that behavior is not only allowed, but possibly encouraged. Somewhere, the line has to be drawn.

  54. Sex with animals. I had forgotten that this one existed.
I have an uncle who is a fireman, and consequently who is called on duty also for accidents at home, roads, everywhere. Once they were called for a home accident. A woman was stuck to her dog and couldn’t get it out. On the way to the hospital, the firemen had an accident… because of laughing out of control… They had to call the central to be secured on the road… and lastly, I don’t know how many trucks they had to call…
Those people with strange practices should have to face a moral council, as much as legal couples who have strange practices. Nowadays, the problem is that porn becomes so “normal”, that it derives from the fiction to its application in the reality.
There are many kinds of violences, but moral violences are terrific. Honestly, porn is worst than homosexuality and when we consider the way how woman become legal sexual objects, I just feel sick.
Do you imagine that. A woman who is too pretty got a life always harassed. The hell. Hippy getting fat, vulgar, ugly, disorientated but loved.

  55. Actualy Jewels~of~the~Jungle Nambla (the act) is illigal. I belive the age of concent is 18. There for anyone over the age of 18 haveing sex with some one under the age of 18 is illigal, and there for punishible by law.

  56. George, George, George of the jungle
    Strong as he can be
    Ahhh
    Watch out for that tree
George, George, George of the jungle
    Lives a life that’s free
    Ahhh
    Watch out for that tree
    When he gets in scrapes
    When he makes his escapes
With the help of his friend
    An ape named Ape
    Then away he’ll schlep
    On his elephant Shep
    While Fella and Ursula
    Stay in step with
George, George, George of the jungle
    Friend to you and me
    Ahhh
    Watch out for that tree
Watch out for that (Ahhh) (Oooh) tree
George, George, George of the Jungle
    Friend to you and me

Who would dare to remix this song with Frank J. instead of George ?

  57. As for haveing sex with animals… icky icky icky simple rule of thumb go over to your dog/cat/hampster ask it to have sex with you, if it replies in your native language, yes (and is at least 18 animal years old), then by all means go knock some boots with it. If it makes no cognative sounds at all then the answer is, no.

  58. I started the comments on this crazy thread. I’ll be the one to end it. (With Frank’s permission of course)
That is one funny picture though. But, can any picture of two old lesbians be “not funny”????

  59. DEAR FRANK J. and readers…I am deeply sorry for having made this a place for a debate where it was not warranted. I realize that this awesome head-bonking picture was very funny, but still stand by the things I said…I for one have never seen so many comments on an Imao post…I think frank should maybe start charging for comment posts if it involves highly sensitive issues that people like me and my opponents get riled about. So…having waited a few days and seen that the debate has continued i believe it is time for me to say again……………LAST!!!!!!
