Sorry for those who weren’t able to purchase the IMAO Christmas CD in time; I thought we had more we were selling than we were. My bad. For those who didn’t get to see the Happy Dance, I’ll probably put up some more images after the Christmas holiday.
As for those who got the CD, I want feedback! How’d you like the new bits and especially the Happy Dance? The video editing software I bought even came with a big green tarp for green screening, so I might do more stuff in the future.
Oh, and Scott, please e-mail if you’re reading this. I don’t have your e-mail (it’s at home which I won’t be at until the 2nd), and I have some info for you.
Merry Christmas, y’all.

Perhaps you could post happy dance teasers for the rest of us?
he’s so cute when he says y’all.
I’m still miffed that I waited oh so patiently for the happy dance, and then he wants me to pay for it!! The children are all crying in disappointment. (Or they were until I told them, ‘do you want the happy dance video or Christmas presents…I can’t afford both. Crying ceased immediately. Sorry, Frank!)
I don’t wanna hurt anyone’s feelings, but I’m pretty sure that The IMAO Christmas 2004 CD would’ve made an excellent and inexpensive Christmas present that the whole family would’ve enjoyed–thereby eliminating the need for multiple expensive presents.
By way of comparison, Paul Shankland’s (the political parody-meister for Rush Limbaugh) latest “Christmas” CD sells for $17.98. Frank’s audio CD is not only funnier, but less money for the funny AND comes with a video!
Oh well… Maybe next year.
Frank,
What video editing software did you get, and how much did it cost? (I’m in the market.)
Thanks
Pinnacle Media Suite (has audio, photo, DVD publishing software too). $130, I believe.
Tax deduction!
As Karl told Dubya: “Stay on message.”
Let’s hear what you, the IMAO Fans, thought about The IMAO Christmas 2004 CD!
Please post your kudos and criticisms in this thread.
Frank spells “y’all” correctly too.
I’m still waiting by the mailbox every day for the IMAO Christmas CD.
I hope it gets here soon. I think I’m starting to creep out the mailman.
Merry Christmas, Frank!
It’s gunna be a blue christmas without you, Frank. You keep me going in this monotanous existance of mine.
Frank — If your Boise fans see you on the street, we promise to be really cool and not demand a live performance of the Happy Dance.
So, when will we be seeing SarahK turn into SarahJ?
Are you kidding 007? Have you not seen how whipped Frank is?
SarahK will never be SarahJ.
Frank J. will become Frank K.
Or, he could even just shorten it to FranK.
Merry Christmas?
What about F-ing Spiffy Kwanza?
Or Wicked Wiccamas?
Super Secularamations?
* bless us, everyone!
it would probably be SarahK J. even when we’re together in person, he calls me SarahK.
How long will the CD take to be delivered? I’m nearly getting impatient. 🙂 I’ve been telling a lot of my friends how funny it is.
Was the background music removed because of licensing restrictions?
I agree with Brian.
He gets Her name.
Calls you SarahK in person?
There’s something just… wrong about that!
I kinda liked “FranK.” (“..and who’s this Fran” person??)
RE: Music changes in IMAO CD.
Some astute IMAO Fans have noted that the music on the Christmas CD differs slightly from the Web-based MP3s. This is, as John theorized, for licensing reasons. FrankJ and SarahK did have a hand in creating the music that you hear on the Happy Dance.
Good ear, John!
It’s an explosion of happiness! (w/ some nice video editing for a first timer)
Well I guess FrankJ has learned to love the Kitty who rules all or does he need a “How to love your significant other’s cat, ’cause if you don’t you are going to be in deep kimchee book.”
a
Ummm, hmmm. Could you point me towards the real songs so I can dub them into the background? Heh heh. Not that the bit’s are not funny, it’s just that the Haliburton clip lost a bit of oomph (you could say) when the dark, sinister music was removed.
Otherwise, the new bits WERE hilarious! I can’t wait to leave the CD lying around at work (where work = 6 ultra liberal liberals)
Thanks!
Ok, I came home today and there amidst a pile of Christmas cards from friends and loved ones, I saw the plain brown square envelope that contained my IMAO Christmas CD.
I swept the Christmas cards to the floor! Bah! Humbug! Give me my CD!
Just finished watching the Happy Dance. I don’t want to give anything away, I’ll send ya an email Frank.
Suffice to say, it made us happy.
RE: The music cues in “The Evil of Halliburton”
When Frank wrote the script, he mentioned that he heard a commercial on the radio for a leftist organization that parroted the generic unsubstantiated claims about the Bush Administration we’ve all heard a million times as a reason why he should be defeated in the 2004 election.
“Every time they made one of these ridiculous claims,” Frank said “the announcer would say: ‘FACT!’ and I thought: ‘Wouldn’t it be funny to make even more ridiculous claims about Halliburton?'”
Although I never heard the same commerical, Frank had a good script and described the original source as a somewhat bland–read: cheap–radio commercial with little production value attached to it.
When I started recording Frank’s script, I put in my embellishments (spooky music from a well-known horror movie, using multiple voices + an announcer) which took Frank and I down the path to more complex scripts and productions.
In other words, the commerical as originally scripted and conceived didn’t have the music and multiple announcers. At the risk of sounding like a DVD commentary that nobody listens to, I will now shut up.
Thanks for your comments, IMAO Fans! We’re doing this for you and we wish you a Merry Christmas!
