Did you see the two hour 24 episode Monday? You have a bunch of black people storming the White House by force. That could pretty easily be some racist metaphor about Obama. In the least, a bunch of black men after a white woman (the president) is pretty racist, I’m sure.
Anyway, I’ve been liking this season of 24 pretty well. Some say it’s jumped the shark (or nuked the fridge), but it just seems like classic 24 to me and one of the few shows conservatives can enjoy.
It is going to be hard to keep upping the stakes each season, though; in not too long, terrorists are going to have to blow up a solar system and threaten the entire galaxy to seem like a credible threat, but for now kidnapping the president is fine. As for the politics, it was a bad sign when Janeane Garfalo joined the cast (do yourself a favor and don’t read anything where she’s talking about politics; she’s a hateful, pitiful woman), but the season has still been about how torturing terrorists is not only effective — it’s entertaining — and the only one’s against it are mealy-mouthed liberals. And Jack Bauer doesn’t need their gratitude, but if he did, he could easily torture it out of them.
24 has not only jumped the shark, it’s circled around, jumped it again, stopped, snagged it out of the water, beat it to a pulp Fred Thompson-style, and then shoved a towel down it’s throat for good measure.
And even then, it’s still the best show on TV.
If only that deranged moonbat Gorafolo was not on the show. Not only can’t she act, she is butt-ugly (apologies to butts everywhere). I really hope that Chloe kicks her ass.
She stopped being in the public eye during Obama’s first term.
I have never seen the show’ but I am all for the PUBLIC torturing of terrorists! Tie thier right hands behind thier backs and give them ony bacon and pork rinds.

Didn’t you know? The story arc for this season was written by Hillary Clinton! It’s brilliant – I have no idea where she came up with such a plot….
Therefore, as a Democrat (and since she lost to Obamuhhh in the primaries) this season’s plot cannot be considered racist.
Last year 24 was terrible. It is so much better this year. I like the FBI gal – she has some lingering doubts – but deep down she really is Jack in a pants suit.
I’m with jj – re: Gorawfulo. If the make-up guys aren’t trying to make her look homely, then I really feel sorry for them having to look at her before they do their best with the spackle and paint. She can’t act. Actually she can – but only badly.
They nuked the fridge (for about the 33 time when the lead SS agent, asked the head terrorist mofo to produce evidence that they had the PotUS and after not producing any any evidence at all the assault team throws up their hands and runs away………
geeze that and try getting anywhere in dc in less than an hour…….
I would pay good money to watch Jack get to torture Garafalo.
It may have jumped the shark and back, but it is consistently and constantly making the point this season that terrorists welcome the protection of our laws. From the little weasel COS to the FBI mole, they don’t cooperate unless encouraged. Loved the line to the weasel senator about him being weak and unwilling to confront evil. Even our liberal friends love watching Jack take down the bad guys. They may disapprove in theory about torture and unusual measures, but they seem to be willing to accept their use in certain circumstances, basically whenever Jack wants to.
As for getting around DC in an hour, it is not as bad as LA. Half of every season set out there would feature Jack stuck in traffic.
“And you, sir, are weak. Unable and unwilling to look evil in the face and deal with it.” Best line of the season.
I can’t bring myself to watch it this season because of Gorawfulo. I’m hoping to hear that her character dies a horribly painful, humiliating death in which case I’ll rent the DVD set when it comes out and cheer loudly. Otherwise, I’ll pass …
It’s true – torture is suprisingly entertaining. Of course, I like to think of it as less like torture and more like an efficient use of leverage.
#8 I agree with you completely. My comment was going to be exactly that. I’m pretty sure I yelled something like “YEAH! you tell ’em Jack” when he said that
I won’t watch it this season simply because of their decision to insert Garofalo. I know that if I boycotted every show that sported some leftist celbutard, I’d miss a lot of television & movies.
Suits me.
I can spend the time reading & enjoying more time with loved ones, as I’ve been doing. Hollywood loses support each day (including mine), and rightly so. I did an entry on some of the classy things Garofalo said recently on my blog, and if you want to read it, please do; just don’t be surprised if you feel like hurting something after.
In case anyone’s interested:
Here.
Urghh, for the first half of the season i was thinking “ugh, that ugly girl is pissing me off, and i dont know why” she just looked like a horrible, gross, lesbo.
then i saw the credits, whaddya know I WAS RIGHT!
24 went off the air in 2010.
