The Family that Blogging Made

And God. And I guess I might as well blame Bush while I’m at it (he was the focus of politics when I started blogging).

Anyway, I’m feeling pretty sappy lately, but I wanted to thank everyone who’s ever read or supported IMAO. I started blogging because I just wanted to put my voice out there, and it’s brought me more happiness than I could possibly imagine.

  1. Thanks for posting the picture of you three. It is such a pleasure to know you three are safe, home and happy!

We really do care a lot out here, even if you can’t see or hear us, our warmest thoughts are with you through this whole adventure of life. May you all thrive!

  2. Oh Jeez Frank, I see an Everybody Loves Raymond theme coming up in that pic. “Why did she choose me? I mean “Who’s the nose with sneakers going out with her?” “Why did she choose me? She’s the more popular one.” Pretty girl meets average guy and now you’re in social purgatory.

Forgive me if I’m crude, I just happen to like humor in that range. But I am a nice guy. (And your glasses are a lot like mine!)

That is an excellent picture. Worthy of framing. Good to see Sarah not so flushed from birthing and looking more relaxed.

And Frank, you can take that hospital wrist tag off now. I don’t think they’ll GPS you.

  3. From all of us at the seanmahair compound of conservative nirvana, bless you and your little family. Having my babies was one of the most profoundly, singularly important, world shattering events in my life. I hope only more of the same for you and your sweet spouse. Being a mom and now a grandma is the most important thing I have ever done and the most satisfying.

And don’t worry as someone once told me, you don’t have to know it all. You just have to teach them how to love…….you, their fellow man and most of all their Heavenly Father. You’re up for that right?

  4. I’m wondering two things:

    1) What was the official time & date for Buttercup’s arrival? (the next to last update was 2300 ET, which is 1 hr to midnight and no time was given for the official announcement)

    2. Has Obama condemned Frank yet for punishing Sarah with a baby?

  5. I’m thanking God for blessing you like he blessed me. What an awesome thing. God is wonderful. Now I guess we’ll have to start praying that he help you raise Buttercup and guide her on the right path.

  6. By the way, Buttercup’s birth is being celebrated in Beijing tonight. Yeah, we’re a little behind but my girlfriend read the blog and was like we should light off firecrackers or something….so we did. All the world rejoices with you two 🙂

  7. Fantastic!!! So happy for you …I was wondering how things were going. Please continue blogging about being a Dad…’cause it just gets better!!!!!!!!! We lurk at our son’s facebook site for pictures of our new grandson and his big sister in Alaska where they are serving in the Air Force. This grannie is so thankful for the new technologies like skype and facebook. a grannie can’t get enough pictures!!!!!!!!! Enjoy every minute..’cause they grow up way toooooo fast!

  8. Dude, you should have stayed out of the picture. Your scaring the kid, and in years to come you’ll be blamed for some traumatic
events that never took place. You should gradually introduce yourself into the kid’s life. That way she won’t think your an evil troll come along to steal her from her moma…..

Trust me, I learned the hard way. Guys as ugly as us should never get in front of a camera….

  9. Four eyes! Four eyes! Four eyes! Four eyes! Four eyes!

Really though, congratulations, Frank, and thanks to you, your lovely and talented wife, the rabbit, the spicy Georgia guy, and even that Jewish guy for giving us such fun.

  10. I know that even you can put aside your feelings about the Irish on a day like this. So another blessing for your beautiful family:
    May you always find
    Blue skies above your head,
    Shamrocks beneath your feet,
    Laughter and joy aplenty
And kindness from all you meet.
May God bless you & keep you.

Uh oh, I’m crying in my beer. Back to Tipsy McStaggers I go to buy another round on your behalf. I’m still coming to the hospital, I still have the suitcase packed for SarahK, don’t leave till I get there.

  11. I came for the anti-monkey screeds, and to read why the moon needed nuked, and I stayed for the thrill of the ride. Thanks for the fun.

I look forward to your reviews of Chipmunk 22LR single shot rifles in a few years.

  12. Frank, you have deservedly earned your most joyous sappiness !!! Gorgeous family. Thanking GTod aeveryone is okay. My grandchildren are looking forward Buttercups Imao2050 AD postings. Tel us when we can send ya’ll some ss short ammo for the chipmunk.(This post even made a little sense whilst I am cruising in nyquill land)

Wow. Frank, you are a great guy. I wish you and your family all the best. You have no idea how much happiness and how many laughs you and the IMAO crew have brought me.

Now, get back to work. We need more random thoughts.

  14. Frank,

Welcome to the world of Fatherhood. You are a brave soul. I’ve not made that step yet. I wish you well sir.

I also emailed you a resized pic, if you click pic that’s there. You can actually count your facial hairs! Soooooooooo.. I resized it a bit.

Hope you can swap it out. 🙂

  15. With the birth of a new child and a new chapter in your life, perhaps you should consider celebrating with some new Nuke the Moon shirts for Princess Buttercup and your, say, extended family.

  16. # 56 JMHeincks: HA! We understand the Princess Bride reference, but that Gilbert and Sullivan tune is still my default “Buttercup” reference. Which reminds me– Frank and Sarah, this child needs piano lessons. Also, my 6 year old step-grandson has been loading, cocking, and shooting his single-shot Crickett .22 without our help for over a year. They make one in pink. Too, too cute, and it’s never too early.

  17. Frank, can you get a nice dinasaur picture with major laser launchers on top of it and then place the above picture of you, SarahK and Princess Buttercup together sitting on the laser launchers?

And grandly post the awesome sight here? That will blast this blog into outerspace a trillion times better than any oscar

  18. Very cool – congrats and just remember… at that moment when everything seems it worse, you havent slept in 3 weeks, and Buttercup seems to love crying all through the night… you only have 18 more years of hell left, but it does get a little bit quieter and no you never get to catch up on that sleep. Grats and good luck.

  19. Bantha Fodder – how did you end it all in only 18 years? I’m still wondering when they ever leave and it’s 22 years already. I got all the sleep back but it doesn’t help anymore heh.

Enjoy these early years, they go by in an instant FrankJ. Just wait until a week or two in when she literally grows overnight – one day an outfit fit her perfectly and the next day it was too short about a week in – it’s all so darn fascinating. Hold her while she sleeps, keep her near every second while you can because it’s just a wink of the eye.

  20. Super-big nuclear explosion-sized congratulations to the Fleming family! I was reading your blog long before the t-shirt babe contest that got you guys together, and now a baby comes along and adds to all the gooshy, sappy family feelings…I really am glad for you guys.
May God bless you all and I pray you get to really enjoy every minute of the “having a new infant” thing. (I’ve had three, and time really does fly by.)

  21. Congratulations! I blurk on this blog almost daily, and I’ve followed your adventures in impending parenthod thru Twitter. You guys totally rock. So glad Buttercup is here safe and sound! May the Lord Bless you and keep you!
    Becky

  22. Enjoy! May she be the first of many.

“As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” Psalms 127:4-5

  24. FrankJ – In your family picture I noticed that the hand that you have laying on Princess Buttercup has formed the Vulcan salute, “live long and prosper”. A nice touch.

Which of course begs the question, ….. “Are you an illegal ‘alien’ and is PB your anchor baby?”
