Happy 237th birthday, United States Army.
The Continental Army was formed on June 14, 1775, two years before there was a flag under which to fight. But the cause was there, and citizens responded.
Let’s sing along. No, not Happy Birthday, but something else you might know:
First to fight for the right,
And to build the Nation’s might,
And The Army Goes Rolling Along.
Proud of all we have done,
Fighting till the battle’s won,
And the Army Goes Rolling Along.Valley Forge, Custer’s ranks,
San Juan Hill and Patton’s tanks,
And the Army went rolling along.
Minute men, from the start,
Always fighting from the heart,
And the Army keeps rolling along.Men in rags, men who froze,
Still that Army met its foes,
And the Army went rolling along.
Faith in God, then we’re right,
And we’ll fight with all our might,
As the Army keeps rolling along. Then it’s hi! hi! hey!
The Army’s on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong;
For where’er we go,
You will always know
That The Army Goes Rolling Along.
Stay strong. Stay safe.
Always the greatest generations.
And to all the terrific men and women currently serving in the U.S. Army, this day is yours!
And, while we honor the members of the American Military, liberals are busy trying to figure out how to not count their votes in November.
BRAVO ZULU Army! The music tho, is still the Field Artillery song, And the caissons go rolling along!
Dad will stand for the song but wont sing it. It is, after all, the Artillery song and he’s an Engineer.
Our family has been Army since 1775. From Valley Forge to Baghdad. Latest to serve is Cousin Mindy, Nursing Corps. Go Mindy!!
