The NPS has sooooo screwed themselves over this shutdown. Can you imagine what is going to happen next time they try to get an increase (or smaller decrease) in their appropriations?
I kinda feel sorry for the NPS stiffs on the sidewalk. From what I heard, they hate it just as much as we do, but they either have to do what they’re told, or lose their jobs.
They can’t afford to cross the powers-that-be in Obama’s crippled economy
@6 – True, I suppose they could’ve gone into private security when they washed out of whatever metropolitan police academy they applied to instead of insisting on a public-teat-suckling career path.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them start moving that direction after the shutdown’s over. The ones with a conscience, I mean.
@ Harvey and JW – I think – we need the opposite attitude. Time to get as many good eggs in government as possible. We don’t want to leave it all to the thugs. So, any tea partiers/conservatives etc out of work – have you tried getting a government job? ANY government job? I know it’s degrading, kinda like prostitution but with less respect from your neighbors – but still. We need moles in the government, and I’d rather you guys got my tax money than some Pelosi wannabe.
