lolbama!… Not on a Holiday Weekend

Everyone’s out barbecuing instead of captioning photos (can’t say as I blame anyone on that score), so round-up’s delayed until next week.

Meanwhile here’s a little Apple-bashing that made my weekend complete. Actually, not bashing Apple so much as noticing a specific trend in Apple’s advertising.

CAUTION: Contains a few swears:

[Why Apple Clearly Thinks You’re Stupid] (Viewer #451,353)

  1. I’m pretty sure Apple has thought the average consumer is stupid for a lot longer than the “i-phase”. The whole reason I’ve always preferred PC computers over Apple computers is because a Mac “works out of the box” and is intended for people who don’t know anything about computers. A PC on the other hand, lets you tweak things to your heart’s content. And I can add hardware to it and easily build one from a pile of parts. As far as I know, it wasn’t until about 2005 that people could build or upgrade a Mac. I don’t know why anyone would want to though.

    Apple = Evil

  2. I always find it amusing when some says “I like apple products because they’re idiot proof”

    ok…so YOU think you’re an idiot? I guess I just prefer computers and phones that aren’t made by the adult version of Fisher Price.

  3. The first upgradable Mac was the Mac II of 1987.
    The “Think Different” ad immediately followed the “18984” ad, if you understand that “immediately” can be defined as 15 years.
    The IBM 5150 was designed to be an improved Apple ][.
    The fact that Apple only sells to idiots explains why the company is staggering toward bankruptcy again.

    Cheers

  4. oh yeah…and when you delete stuff from iCloud (which we assure you is secure) we totally delete it and don’t keep a copy for ever that you can’t access. I mean…if we tell you its deleted and you can’t get it back, why would we keep a copy of your personal content for ourselves that we’d never let you access?? Wouldn’t that be just creepy?

  5. by the way – the latest generation of iCrap is back to being non-upgradeable. Not because of any design changes but because Apple simply covers the motherboard in iGoo and then glues the whole thing together so you can’t add RAM or replace the hard drive. When asked about this Apple’s official explanation had something to do with “reducing customer confusion” and “maintaining user experience”.

    yeah…a bunch of people were wondering why they should pay $400 for $60 worth of RAM or $70 worth of hard drive and our user experience, of which the most important part to Apple is overpaying for cheap hardware, is intact.

    Ever talk to someone at the Genius Bar? Yeah, I think they’re using BOTH of those words wrong. Those people are far from genius – most of them were too dumb to go into real I.T…and they will NOT serve you a drink. Their entire marketing strategy since the beginning has been right out of the liberal playbook – people who buy our stuff are just better than everyone else.
