I’m not a pointy headed scientist but wouldn’t the surface temperature have to be much hotter first as warmer liquids rise and colder liquids sink? Or are they changing the law of thermodynamics? Misrepresenting the data? Making stuff up?
@2 Walrus: To your point, I remember reading some world-class snark on one AGW thread, asking how heat, theoretically trapped in the upper reaches of our atmosphere by CO2, is conveyed (in the models) from that cold region to a warmer region closer to the surface of the earth. Violating the laws of thermodynamics. Can’t happen. Because the greenhouse analogy is just an analogy. A metaphor, not a fact. The atmosphere is permeable. Greenhouses aren’t. Heat from so-called gresnhouses gases flows away from warmer regions — the surface of the planet — not towards them.
It’s high time all those fish start utilizing those bicycles they claimed they needed so bad.
