Expect on your visit to endure ceaseless demagoguery and watch out for the constant threat of looters. Avoid the crooks and the police equally, as association with one is certain to cause you harm, while association with the other could land you at the center of a Federal probe, citizen backlash, and other guilt by association consequences. Forget what you may have heard, this is no longer a nice place, and resembles inner city Detroit on a good day and is trending toward becoming a carbon copy of the south side of Chicago.
