That’s one of the cardinal rules of the comic book game – never kill off a good super-villain, because you never know when you’ll be facing another dead-line and have to fill the pages with a recycled retelling of an earlier story.
Of course, part of the magic is killing off characters in ways that No One could possibly survive, then bringing them back anyway through some loop-hole no one every expected.
