Bernie Sanders Clarifies Socialism

In a recent interview, Bernie Sanders said “what Democratic socialism is about is to maintain the strong entrepreneurial spirit that we have in this country… To continue to produce wealth, but to make sure it is more equitably distributed.”

Basically, “we want you to drive your car like normal, we just want it to have square wheels”.

  1. I keep seeing things on Facebook about how much this CEO makes or the percentage difference between the mail clerk and the CEO…. all very interesting. I usually ask these people a simple question and none of them seem to be able to answer it:

Why is it OK for Kim Kardashian to make 28 million dollars a year but NOT OK for Brian C. Cornell, the CEO of Target to make 28 million dollars a year?

  2. @2: Bingo.

@Bernie: So, Lucy is encouraged to continue operating her psychiatry stand or lemonade stand or whatever, but knowing she’ll have to share her 5 cents with Pig-Pen, who does nothing? (Under threat of the Charlie Brownshirts showing up, after NSA Snoopy informed on her?)

  3. Basically, “we want you to drive your car like normal, and pay for all the gas and insurance and maintenance like normal, but you have to use it to drive these undocumented workers from in front of Home Depot to their job sites and back, and to drive these formerly uninsured patients to their medical appointments and back (did we mention you’ll be subsidizing their new insurance?), and to drive these debt-ridden college students to their safe spaces and back to Mummy’s basement (did I mention you’ll be subsidizing the federal guarantees of their reckless loans?), and don’t forget to thank them for the opportunity to pay back some tiny portion of your unfair capitalist white privilege, bourgeois pig.”

  4. “what Democratic socialism is about is to maintain the strong [illusion that the] entrepreneurial spirit that we have in this country [will still be worth pursing and]… To continue to produce wealth, but to make sure [to the gullible that] it [appears to be] more equitably distributed [even though the reality is that we are just going make you work harder for less].”

    There, fixed.
