I really don’t understand any of this bank or mortgage stuff, but I feel I should offer you all some advice since that’s why you come here. My best financial suggestion is to make sure you at least have a shotgun and plenty of ammo. If things go to pot, there’s a lot of things you’ll need to survive, but you can always get them later if you at least have a shotgun. A shotgun should be the foundation of any stable portfolio.

A Mossberg with room for 8 shells in the magazine allows for more diversity in choice of shells.
A bayonet lug would help in case you run out of ammo and need a spear. (Bayonet sold separately)
A shotgun is good, but something with a few more rounds per second is suggested.
I recently added a .50 Beowulf to my portfolio, I had to diversify.
So this is what we get instead of Hellbender? Just telling us stuff we already knew?
Oh well, I’ve already finished Hellbender in my head. They all die and the world ends. Sort of like how I expect the real world to go in the next few years.
I do like my 12 gauge, but a Glock 21 is also a nice accessory. Plus, it matches my boots.
Something like this, Dav in La?
Yes my Mossberg “Persuader” is essential, but the delight of the 30rd mag and longer range of the AK must not be underrated.
Wow, I watched that video Marko linked to. I can’t imagine any situation that would require 20 rounds from an automatic shotgun, but it’s still so cool.
Not to mention, if you’re forced to turn to cannibalism, you’re already a few steps ahead of the others..
Well, you shoot him once and then use the other 19 rounds to make sure it worked.
I like 12-gauge plugs. They work for deer, bear and people. They’ll stop just about anything from 100 feet.
This is so cool. I was THINKING just today about my ROTH IRA. I have more money to put in for the year and could not decide whether I should invest while Wall St’s having a stock sale, or if I should keep the money in the savings account for a rainy day. Then, I started thinking about Obama as president… my immediate concern? More ammo for the Browning Buckmark 22 AND the hammerless revolver I have been craving for a year now. Now, that’s an investment.. So glad Frank agrees with me!
I got a head-start on the cannibalism, just in case!
(I really shouldn’t watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I am just waaaaaaay too impressionable.)
It’s Always Sunny is my favorite show. lol.
And i’m collecting as many guns as possible. I have 12 gauge already. Now I want a 20 Gauge auto loader.
Do you guys have any idea how sexy you are when you talk guns?
No, but we can’t keep it up indefinitely, NunyaB.
That was dumb advice. A shotgun can’t pay the bills. Stupid and also not even funny.
McCain was running ads this morning saying he already won the debate. Yes, he is an idiot as are the people who support him.
Good job, SamIam! Please collect your rock of crack at the usual place.
Since firearms appreciate in value, they are a good investments period. Yes, they can pay your bills. There’s also this place that’s called a “Gun Store” where the owner makes money through buying and selling guns. Ask him if guns pay his bills… It’s unfortunate that your prejudice is preventing you from seeing an investment opportunity. The .50 cal Browning Machinegun I bought has nearly doubled in value in the last 5 years. Also, .50 BMG ammo has over quadrupled in price during that same time period.

I’ve got my shotgun but, being dirt poor as I am, I need to find a nice cheap source of ammo. Any suggestions.
Don’t forget comfortable shoes. When it all goes to heck (filter) there won’t be any fuel for your SUV so you may have to walk with your shotgun to get what you need.
We have plenty of ammo for our shotgun- but we are having a really hard time finding ammo for our .40 and 9mm in bulk. Normally we buy the 250 mega packs to take to the range and no one seems to have them save for one sporting goods store that doubled the regular price. Anyone else seeing this? I am in CA btw.
