The facts link kinda depressed me. They were basic, yeah I knew that stuff, except Teddy’s grandson getting the MOH. Stuff all Americans should know.
The movie The Longest Day is based on a book and surprisingly stays true to it. The book is darn good.
If you watched the movie or read the book you knew the facts.
I will bet Teddy’s grandson didn’t think he deserved the medal. He was just ‘doing his job’.
My great-uncle served in WWII. He was an aircraft mechanic stationed in England. I remember him telling me about painting the planes to get ready for D-Day.
