So… could this cartoon be made today? I mean, without perp-walking the entire Warner Brothers Board of Directors.

Considering the Warner Bros. history of anti Islamic propaganda and obvious hatred of Muslims I’d have to say the answer to your question is a definite NO!! Want more proof, here it is. Note the stereotypical name of the Arab guard who has been charged with guarding the treasure and ask yourself what more evidence do we need…….. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2pzj11
There is also “Sahara Hare” where an Arab is portrayed as a violent, angry, gun-toting, xenophobic, abuser of camels. This sort of cultural accuracy is frowned upon today.
“…anti Islamic propaganda and obvious hatred of Muslims” in Warner Brothers cartoons is a claim that would need to be proved. Or is this instead about the studio in general?
“…anti Islamic propaganda” would seem to be non-existent in the cartoons. They did not address religion.
“…and obvious hatred of Muslims”: the cartoons did not address religion.
Rednecks, Texans, bald men with speech impediments, ducks with speech impediments, mad scientists, witches, Tasmanian Devils, coyotes, mobsters, and miscellaneous muscle-bound dimwits fared far, far worse — far, far more often — in Bugs Bunny cartoons than Hassan did in his appearance.
There were a few with Nips & Nazis, but those are hard to find these days
I have seen a number of those WWII ones. They try to demean the enemy in every way they can think of. But they still don’t address religion.
Oppo you didn’t really take me serious did you??
Harvey, you can find most of those “banned” cartoons at YouTube.
@6 zzyzx: Oops, I did. Sorry! I must be reading too many real comments in news sites. Unparodyable.
