Obama Finally Calls the Indian Prime Minister

Posted by Frank J. on November 12, 2008 at 9:57 pm

Only the leader of the world’s largest democracy; no rush.

And you can tell from the photo ABC Live in India used that they’re not mad at all.

Look familiar? And we made sure to watermark it. Sheesh. Now apparently its a stock photo.

Actually, that makes me smile.

Here’s the story behind the photoshop.

(If the ABC Live site take the photo down, there’s a PDF of it here.)

    amazing

  2. sarahk says:

You can even tell where they photoshopped out the watermark. The carpet suddenly changes.

This is my favorite thing from India ever. Except maybe my Indian coworker, na’an, and chicken tikka masala.

  3. Kent says:

    Dude! Your job’s been offshored!

All the same – incredible. Either they agree with you or they are clueless – either way, it’s hilarious.

I’ve had a really sucky day until five minutes ago… That made it.

  4. Kent says:

    Hmmmm… chicken tikka masala…..

There’s a frozen one at the grocery store that doesn’t suck. Granted, when you get the frozen Naan to go with it, you’re up to 8 bucks, but if there aren’t any Indian restaurants nearby…

  5. MarkoMancuso says:

You’ve made it to the big time, Frankie!

  6. sarahk says:

Kent, I make it at home, yo! But I know the frozen one of which you speak. I get it for Frank when I don’t feel like making him a lunch.

There are no copy rights on the internet. I LOVE DOING THE HOT SWAP! … and no that is not some kinky wife sharing thing….. When people hotlink to photos on my server I like to substitute a more amusing photo. I used on here from IMAO that was B.O. with drool dropping from his mouth. I added a glorious hole complete with ding dong with it saying underneath B.O. Sux might big ones! ….. Let the amusement begin!

They do speak English over there…sort of:

It is to mention that both leaders could not able to communicate with each other as the Prime Minister was traveling in airoplane when Obama called him on Wednesday morning.

  9. Illinidiva says:

LOL… Is that for real? ;)

I take back everything I ever said about Cadet Happy. He is now like a diety to me.

  11. Jimmy says:

Whoa, you made the “Headlines We Pick, You Click” section at HotAir. Blogalanche!

  12. Kent says:

    Sarah K,
    you… MAKE YOUR OWN???

Frank, forget the mexicannon and moon nuking and CLONE THIS WOMAN.

If nothing else, you’ll have a thousand happy conservative guys out there.

Back on topic – I do love the fractured English in the article. Reminds me of the recruiters or tech support people.

  13. G Fresh says:

They probably just did a google images search for Obama + phone when they were putting the story together. It’s the first (and pretty much, only) picture that comes up. That’s awesome! :o D

  14. Scooter says:

    hahahah what the crap?

  15. tll says:

maybe they think that’s how all Americans use phones?

I’d lmao if the Indian PM tried to show him how to use one when they meet.

Indian News Agency Uses “Inconvenient” Obama Photo…

Gateway Pundit has the scoop, but suffice to say, the IMAO.us parody is so legendary that it even warrants its own entry on Snopes, so I can sorta understand how they might’ve missed it.

What’s next for the infamous Frank J, now that he’s apparen…

  18. Ricky says:

    He’s still a ding dong.

    Frank, keep ‘em coming!

  19. Phelps says:

And they didn’t even do a good job of taking out the watermark. That’s one of the worst stamp tool jobs I’ve ever seen.

  20. ILoveMyFreedoms says:

Metink tat teh funie. U rok bg tyme!

  21. Ernie Loco says:

Big props to Cadet Happy on this one. But I can’t believe those shmucks dared to use it for a “news” article after they had the stones to photoshop out your watermark.

On the other hand, more people will get to see the photo now, so I guess it’s a good thing…

  22. Hogman says:

    Priceless

  23. Brian The Adequate says:

Ernie- Go the the Snopes.com page on this (which still does not credit IMAO, despite at least one e-mail pointing them to the original source) and the picture there has the IMAO watermark shopped out. The idiots at ABClive probably did not clean out the water mark.

I like that any “serious” news agency would use a photo with that clock in the background that Cadet did deliberately crappy.

  24. Radika Singh says:

It should be taken as indian prospective that this photo graph just show how a man who will be the leader of world power democracy could not find communication link with world largest democracy head in communication advacne era.

As Indian prime minister has categorelcally stated during his on board press meet that due to non availbality of communication link he could not able to get call from US President elect,Obama but question this photo wants ask from both obama and singh what is reality behind this delayed coversation ?

It clearly shows that either of both hining the truth of delayed coversation between two nations who are trying to come closer??

  25. sudha rai says:

It is great question which supporters of democratic values should ask which ABC Live photo is asking ,

It is not image in question but more than for what message it was used by ABC Live should be consider

    well done ,good work

  26. HCG says:

ABC Live – Why would POTUS-elect Obama want to talk to the leader of the world’s largest democracy? Nothing against India, but BHO has no interest in democracy.

  27. cpez says:

    That totally made my day!

Notice how they called Michelle “Mitchelle” at the bottom as well. I mean, I knew her face was…unfortunate-looking…but I never mistook her for a man.

  28. SH says:

    This is soooo funny.

    Dear All

ABC LIVE is a responsible news organization run by experienced online research journalists from INDIA.
Here ABC means ACCURATE BRAVE AND COMPACT and not AMERICAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION.

We have posted a news article regarding delayed phone conversation between US elect President Barack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on November 12 2008.

This introductory phone call between two leaders of those nations who are trying to come closer defying all historical if and buts in their bilateral relations.

As news flashed out regarding Obama made phone call to south Asian nation heads except Indian Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh send anger and misinformation on future of mutual strategic partnership recently developed between India and United States.

As a news organization from India it was our responsibility to publish news which can reflect the news and as well as its impact on the area from where it was reported.

That’s why we have reported a true content of the concerned news with heading which is stressing on delayed phone conversation “At Last Obama calls Manmohan Singh” along with a picture showing Obama with inverted telephone receiver which shows the mistiming of highly valued introductory conversation between leaders of two largest democracies of the world and watch behind Obama showing 3 am reflects the prompt action taken by them even at these flee hours to rectify the mistake.
